Melisa and her staff are highly qualified, exceptionally talented, extremely knowledgeable attorneys (and paralegals). I came to Melisa's firm after experiencing a lengthy drawn out divorce that was not resolved after 2 plus years with a former unscrupulous attorney. Melisa was honest, quick, respons...ive, thorough, communicative and transparent in the resolution of a now 3 year divorce. She accomplished and always held what was in the best interest of me and my children. She guided me through the process with compassion and honesty. She or her staff were always available to explain the process and she resolved a very difficult and lengthy divorce with in clients best interest. I cannot recommend her more! She is opposite of the stereotypical attorney/law firm in the fact that she is not attempting to delay your case to gain financial benefit; she works aggressively to resolve your case and remains professional at all times, even if other parties involved are not. I feel blessed to have had her represent me in the resolution of my very difficult and lengthy divorce.

I would not recommend Attorney Melisa Medina. I was looking for new attorney for my child custody case, My spouse reached out to a lawyer that He knew and was recommended to her. Decided to hire Medina after a consultation, she painted a nice picture and seemed very understanding and relating from he...r personal experience. Unfortunately that was not the case. Have fun trying to reach out to her for days and nothing when it’s pretty urgent, days later multiple emails and all you get back is That’s inappropriate. Days after that you have to call the office to set up a conference call through a assistant that isn’t well put together. Even if there’s nothing to do to a situation, I believe you should have some reasons or explanations on why you can’t act or any other options, guidance seeing they are representing you. You will not get that with Medina. Also pay attention to the billing there are multiple charges for speaking to the other counsel with no explanation on what or anything it was regarding, even when confronted about these issues she really had no explanation on any of the matters and just mentioning about a motion she was working on in the beginning and that’s all, got very defensive and tell you to go back to your previous attorney. After hearing horror stories about how long and ugly a divorce can be, I had my reservations about going through with the process. But, Melisa was quite reassuring. She was also kind, compassionate and responsive. While it was an uncontested divorce, it wasn't a simple do-it-yourself one. ...There were assets, investments and a child involved, But she didn't drag out the process - we were divorced in less than 5 months. She never pitted us against each other either, like many adversarial attorneys can do. Instead, we all worked together. Even though she was clear that she represented only me, she took the time to explain everything to both of us. She explained the pros and cons of each item and in non-legal terms. It helped us to come to agreements that were in the best interest of our child. And while she worked our uncontested divorce in an amicable way, I have no doubt that she can be quite the force to be reckoned with in the courtroom if the need arises. Melisa took the fear and uncertainty out of a very difficult situation for me. From the initial consultation through to the end, she was always there for me. I hope nobody I know ever needs a divorce attorney again, but if they do, I will surely send them to Melisa.

I'm going to say I must have been her first client EVER. Cost $12,500, to her with her still wanting more money, but she didn't finish her job. She did not advise me on my 6 years 8 months marriage to wait 4 months to file. Had she done so it would have been 7 year marriage, better outcome for me. ...She never met with me prior to going to court for a "her wanting another $7,500 from my ex" for 4 more months to finish my divorce. She wasn't prepared. The judge tore us spart, she lost the case. Then she left me with no attorney 2 years into my case because she lost a fee hearing. Money driven? My ex was a stalker so she tells me to contact the authorities. I do that and then she tells me I should not have done that WHAT THE? Because my ex''s atty used it against us. I followed her bad advice. I ended up getting another atty who reviewed her case, he also thought she did not represent me, at all. 1 month after my hearing and after speaking with her law office, she was with another firm. She just didn't care about anything other than money. Suspicious she was with another firm 4 months before my case went to court. I was told by another law firm to report her to the bar. Out of the kindness of my heart I did not. She filed papers with the court without my consent or review and never sent me a copy of any filings or never sent me a breakdown of her fees or what she was charging, and not meeting with me prior to court "just show up 30 min early". Long story short. Trust me, there are better attorneys. Find one. My divorce cost me $23,000. No kids. Short Term marriage. Bad advice from this atty. I hope she at least learned something from my case because I've cried now for 3 years. Not her fault my ex was abusive and a narcissist, but it is her job to know the law and how to treat people.
