His focus is primarily in the area of Florida Workers’ Compensation law. Mr. Leibowitz has been honored since 1988 as one of the legal profession’s elite with his inclusion in the nationally recognized Martindale-Hubbell® Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. Mr. Leibowitz is one of only four former Chairpersons of the Executive Council of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Florida Bar in North Florida, 2002-2003 [Member 1992 to 2018; Treasurer 1996 to 2002; Designated Emeritus Member 2008 to present]. He has practiced law in the area of workers’ compensation since 1983, after serving with the Office of the State Attorney, Fourth Judicial Circuit, from 1981. Jacksonville Magazine’s “904” has named Mr. Leibowitz as one of Jacksonville’s Top Lawyers.
He was nominated by the Statewide Judicial Nominating Commission to the Governor for selection as a Florida Judge of Compensation Claims. Mr. Leibowitz mainly represents injured workers, large insurance carriers and self-insured employers.
Mr. Leibowitz is the creator of the Workers’ Compensation present value calculation software program, Projected Indemnity Exposure. In 2004, he was a member of the Division of Administrative Hearings Rules Committee. Mr. Leibowitz has served as a guest lecturer at numerous continuing legal education seminars, where he has given presentations on a variety of issues related to Workers’ Compensation, and has taught review courses for other attorneys seeking certification in the area of Workers’ Compensation. He co-authored Enforcement of the Compensation Judge’s Order; Certification of Contempt and Rule Nisi – A Practitioner’s Roadmap, 2009 and authored Florida’s First Responder Heart/Lung Benefits: What You Need to Know, 2008.

I enjoy the great outdoors including camping, skeet, sporting clays, and wing shooting, especially when it involves quail and dove and spending time with my family.

Mr. Leibowitz was very at tentative to my case. He fought veery aggressively for me. He is very knowledgeable. I felt very confident going into my medigation hearing.
