The best!

Jay had my best interest in mind from the moment I met with him through the months that we worked together. He WILL work for you and will use his extensive knowledge of the legal system to get you the best outcome. Listen to him, trust his advice, and do what he says. I would recommend Jay to anyone ...who finds themselves in a difficult situation. He is the best lawyer in Atlanta!

Excellent

I cannot tell you how much I respect and love Jay, Katie, Allison and Mr Ware. This is long over due but definitely due. My fiance was facing several charges including probation violations in Walton county stemming from charges in Gwinnett county. The hardest part was getting through Walton County... and no attorney will touch that county - They did. My fiancee was sitting in there while I combed through attorneys left and right - he has a public defender who couldnt do anything. He sat in there for months like an animal before I retained Jay and Katie. They didnt even have a court date for him. They kept sending over a "Public Defender" and the Probation officer to take a plea. He wouldn't take it. Once I retained them they was able to get him on the calendar immediately. On that day- Katie came and represented him the day of the first court appearance. I already knew what to expect. They under promised and under delivered. Now let me tell you- when I saw her - I was like um I dont know about this - she looks to sweet-does not look like the type that would rip results with her sweet charm but whoa buddy- she did he was facing finishing his probation in Prison for Walton county- Prosecution was firm on 5 yrs!!! By the time she was done - she got him time served credit and 2 for 1 to (3 mos jail time in county jail to serve half of that...) but here's the thing - while that was great- she told me he could prob get out sooner if he volunteers - I am also a believer in Christ and I pray- so I thanked God there in the hall way... she stood back and smiled and told me not to worry - it will be ok. And it was - my Fiance was released the same day!! This is not the norm but this is how that jail worked... if he had to do prison time - he would never had been released. The fact that she was able to fight and negotiate not like a tyrant but because of her ability to see through bull crap and negotiating skills- she got results. Regarding the Gwinnett county charge he was facing a year in prison - however- Jay got it reduced to 6 mos with some credit for time served and fines. He was sentenced and only served 3 mos. Jay and his team do not sugar coat ANYTHING!!!! I have NEVER had an issue with them not calling me back at all. In fact their Assistant Allison is very knowledgeable herself and is able to handle most concerns and issues. If I had to LVM she returns the call very timely and or responds to email as well. The only time I didnt hear from her on time was that she was out of the office and called me promptly. Even if its after normal business hours! That's the truth. They are completely personable and again they don't sugar coat anything. if you are easily offended - get thicker skin. Seriously. I also will add that I was on a payment contract with them and as long as you keep in touch with them they will not hound you- just do what you say you will do. That's it. I recognize how sincere and real they are and how they work collectively and the relationships they have with the courts is very important. That's why I continually refer them. They are not cheap - but they will work with you. I will also say- who wants a cheap lawyer when in comes to your freedom. Its about the quality not the quantity of dollars. I talked to so many attorneys before retaining them and they made different promises quoted some average prices and they just sounded sketchy. Jay told me my fees upfront when he called me from his cell on a sunday evening- He told me what he was looking at- told me what would be the headache and what he believed he could do. He was confident in what he told me. And he delivered what he said. You cannot expect fast results that is a fact- for any attorney. I'd rather someone take the time rather than speed through with horrible results. I dont EVER want to use them again because the goal is to stay out of trouble!!! But God forbid - they would be first.

Complex case

My son has 2 charges, aggravated assault and criminal attempt robbery. I fired one attorney because the plea he got was 20 years do 12. J Abt started out with a plea of 20 do 7. Complications arose with my son missing court dates. This has been going on for about 1 year. I did not like the answers an...d things J Abt was telling me. HE IS DIRECT, STRAIGHT FORWARD AND TO THE POINT! He also does not sugar coat the facts. This caused conflict between us. He also has a phenomenal team of para legals, one that stands out is Mr. Ware. He rode it out with me til the end. Thank you Mr. Ware. On September 10th, 2015 my son had his pre trial in Dekalb county. Mr Abt has a good repore with the prosecuting attorney, I witnessed this. My son took the plea after J Abt negotiated with the prosecuting attorney, 15 years do 5 years! If you ever need a criminal attorney J Abt is your man. He cares about his client's and he is a busy man. He do not have time to baby you. These are criminal offenses that he is dealing with and people's futures are at stake. I LOVE YOU J Abt and thank you for a job well done! Thank you for bringing my son home to his wife, children, family and friends early! May God continue to bless you. You have a heart of gold!
