After consulting with a large Atlanta-area Bankruptcy firm, where I spent about 2 minutes with an attorney and it was immediately clear I'd be merely a number, and another local attorney who gave me not much longer I came across Mr Clapp. I'm incredibly grateful that I did! I had a relatively simple Chapter 7 case, and the previous attorneys I'd spoken to were quite happy to take it on, after giving me a very few minutes of their time. In contrast, at our consultation Charles spent over an hour and a half with me, going over all of my details, including whether or not filing now would be my best choice, not just assuming it was a given. Once we decided it was, he proceeded to explain that he recommended we redeem my vehicle, getting me out of more my car loan more than 2 years early for a reasonable sum which I could afford, and that he would get rid of a lien secured against personal property. None of the other attorneys I spoke with mentioned either option, suggesting only reaffirming both loans. Further Charles had no hesitation in pursuing action against a creditor who repeatedly violated the bankruptcy stay. While he was quite willing to take the violations to trial, he also clearly explained the pros, cons, and risks of going to court vs settling, the potential damages and costs involved, and gave his honest opinion of settling, including his reasons, which allowed me to make a very well informed choice. He communicates clearly and responds to questions in a reasonable time frame, and on the one occasion I had difficulty reaching him due to issues with his new telephone system he made a point of explaining the problem, apologizing, and promptly ensuring I had an alternate way to reach him. All in all I have no hesitation recommending Mr Clapp to anyone, and in fact have referred several colleagues to him. If you need a bankruptcy attorney in the Atlanta area, Mr Clapp should certainly be your first choice.
