Biography
I strive to provide more of a human element to the legal profession than many attorneys. I give every client my cell phone number and provide a level of acessibility and empathy in your legal situation that you will not be charged for. When the situation calls for it, I fight for my clients as if they are members of my own family. Sometimes, I have to make my clients understand that the situation may require an approach that calls for comprimise and negotiation. The circumstances and governing law control every unique situation, and no two stories are exactly alike. Whether you need a fighter or a peace maker, I can balance both roles.
I also believe that legal services should be attainable for everyone. It is an investment, but too often attorneys quote fees that would make wealthy individuals cringe. I strive to work with people within their budget to achieve a result that will improve their lives.
My background includes four years as a United States Marine, six years as an Atlanta Police Officer, and I am currently a criminal defense attorney and the mother of 4 energetic children.

Never informed me properly about a civil rights case and an appeal. Very dissapointed with her and her former partner. Was not told they disolved their partnership, caused me added stress, by not knowing what was going on with my case. No paperwork was forwarded to me. Just left me hanging.

Replied last May 01, 2013I remember this case explicitily. The Client signed a contract with my former law partner and discussed the merits of the case as well as the fee agreement with her. I never spoke with the client personally before or at the time he retained her. My invovlement in this case was limited stricltly to assisting the partner research and draft a complaint which was timely submitted to avoid statute of limitations issues. As I informed client, I took a job with the government that precluded my continued involvement in the case meaning my former partner would be the primary attorney. Given that client had only communicated with her about the case and had only met with her to sign the contract this was not an issue. My former partner, Jennifer Knight, had sole control over the case and access to the file from October of 2011 throughout the duration. I have no knowledge of Ms. Knight's communication with him during his case, motions filed, discovery, nor do I have any knowledge whatsover regarding an appeal. I expressed concerns to Ms. Knight at the outset regarding the merits of the case and the Client's exaggeration of injuries that could not be substantiated and his aggressive behavior towards police officers after he attacked his wife. Any interested parties can please the docket of this case by going onto PACER and putting in a search for Harry Collins v. City of Macon, 5:11-CV-00392.
