I strive to provide more of a human element to the  legal profession than many attorneys. I give every client my cell phone number and provide a level of acessibility and empathy in your legal situation that you will not be charged for. When the situation calls for it, I fight for my clients as if they are members of my own family. Sometimes, I have to make my clients understand that the situation may require an approach that calls for comprimise and negotiation. The circumstances and governing law control every unique situation, and no two stories are exactly alike. Whether you need a fighter or a peace maker, I can balance both roles.

I also believe that legal services should be attainable for everyone. It is an investment, but too often attorneys quote fees that would make wealthy individuals cringe. I strive to work with people within their budget to achieve a result that will improve their lives.

My background includes four years as a United States Marine, six years as an Atlanta Police Officer, and I am currently a criminal defense attorney and the mother of 4 energetic children.

Fierce fighter and passionate attorney...Sad it didn't work out
I retained Shannon to represent me in two very unique and complex domestic cases. From the moment I met Shannon, I fell in love with her. She took the time to get to know me, as a person, and the ins and outs of my cases. She also is one of the few attorneys I've encountered that genuinely care about their clients and their families and pours her heart into a case. This attorney is not afraid to stand up when others are and will zealously fight for you. Although things did not work out between us and she and I no longer have a relationship, I will say this was due to no fault of her own. Working for herself, Shannon had a lot on her plate and tremendous workloads coming from her at multiple angles. She needed help and instead people continued to drain her and dump more on her plate. A lack of communication and multiple misunderstandings that I regret is what eventually led us to part ways. I would go back in time and have a "do-over" with Shannon if I could. I would recommend this attorney to anyone in a complex custody litigation and will confidently say to this day she will care and fight for you to the end!

Awesome Shannon Briley
I found attorney Briley online and emailed her that I needed an attorney at nine o'clock to appear in court the next morning. She agreed and said she would be there and she was there before time. My son charges was requiring that he do ten months in jail. Attorney Briley argued her point and negotiated thirty days. I spoke to several other attorneys before speaking to attorney Briley they were more concerned about the money. I chose attorney Raleigh because she was concerned about my son she asked me questions regarding his employment military status xcetera and she was able to used to defend him. She was very knowledgeablle and compassionate; everything a mother needed. Also, Attorney Briley was very much concerned about getting a lesser sentence and my son's well-being. I give all praise to God and Attorney Briley for an awesome outcome. I appreciate everything that she has done for me and my family. I give her 10 stars

My Angel My Advocate
My case is a very unique and very complicated situation involving Family Court Corruption in Augusta GA where our children are literally being Human Trafficked through the System and sold to the highest bidder. These Judges are literally placing children with drug addicts, convicted felons, pedophiles etc.. This Monstrostrosity has been going on for over 70 years and innocent children and parents lives are being destroyed when they try and protect their rights and their children they punish you and put you in financial quicksand first then they take away as well as all their parental rights . Augusta is run by the good ol boy system and old money andit's all about politics! Children have died and are missing to this day and NO one is listening to our cry. Our Voices have been Silenced for far to long. Every attorney allegedly is involved in this corruption as well as GAL and the children get sold to the highest bidder. I have been fighting this Corrupt system for years now with no sucess I have had all my rights taken away because I went to the media about the fact that my child is being allegedly sexually, physically, mentally, psychologically and emotionally abused and yet No One would do Anything to help me aor my child because my x is a Deputy. Shannon Briley is the Answer to soo many prayers for soo many years she not only came in to court balls blazing and getting some of the facts on Record and proving the injustice that is occurring in my case, but she was also able to prove the Judge to be invovled with all the injustice! She has filed 2 ER hearing petitions and the whole Augusta Judicial System has Refused to even Acknowledge them even though GA code states ER hearing must be addressed within 24 - 72 hours. They continue to threaten my attorney to try and get her to quit or scare her off my case as they have been successful with the last 8 attornies I have had. Shannon works day and night trying to figure out a way to save my child but it doesn't stop there she is also a crusader for over 5000 families that come forward in the last year that are trapped by this same Corrupt System. Shannon is an Unstoppable force and She will not stop fighting for Every innocent child and parent until justice is served. I have Never Trusted Anyone in the Court System especially Attornies and I Thank God Everyday for Shannon , she has renewed my Faith that there are still people out there that will Stand up and Fight No Matter what the Cost!!! Shannon is the hardest , bravest, most Inspiring Person I have Ever had the Priveledge of Knowing! She has been able to do the Impossible and prove all the Injustice and She is Definately A Force To Be Reckoned With! For the first time in 4 years there is hope! She is My Angel, My Advocate and My Sister. Thank You Shannon for Everything You Do On a Daily Basis To Continue Fighting For Our Children! I Pray That More Attornioes Can Be Half As Brave As Shannon Denise Briley And Join the Fight To Save Our Children and Put An End To All The Injustice!

Shannon has done the best job I've ever seen
I had a very difficult and trying case that another lawyer dropped in my lap and left me to represent myself, it was mess. I couldn't get anyone to take my case but Shannon Briley did and she goes above and beyond her call of duty. I see the reviews on here say she doesn't stay in contact that couldn't be farther from the truth bc she does stay on top of things even though she's not calling daily doesn't mean she's not working your case. I couldn't have asked for a better attorney. Shannon is caring and kind you don't find that in the law field anymore. I highly recommend her to any and everyone!

Miss Briley is the best lawyer I have ever had. She fought for me to the bitter end as a public defender. She saved my life. I owe her everything I have and am today without her i would be locked up for unjust charges brought upon me. I give her 10 stars and highly recommended her.

11th hour save
What started out as a pretty simple case of truancy for our son suddenly went from bad to worse. We knew we needed the help of an attorney fast or our son was doomed. We retained Shannon almost immediately and are thankful we did! She jumped right in and was upfront and honest about what we and our son were facing and what her plan was. Shannon was ready and willing to fight for him because she felt , as we did, that our son's case was out of control and had gone way too far. She could make no promises because, in this eleventh hour, her job was all about damage control and that's exactly what she accomplished. She was great! Her knowledge, efforts and negotiating skills kept our son from being sent to the Youth Detention Center. Shannon kept us updated throughout the process as she pursued the ADA for answers and was always available by phone if we needed her. In addition to her knowledge and abilities, she has common sense which we find impressive. We have and will keep her phone number. If, ever again, we need the help of counsel, Shannon is who we'll call without hesitation. She's the best !

A dying breed
I reached out to Shannon, a peer from law school, to help resolve an issue I had. Even after losing contact after law school, she immediately returned my call and was very friendly. She really put me at ease, since I've been stressing over my situation. She immediately agreed to help me. She has been there to provide support through the legal course but also gives support emotionally and mentally. A last of a dying breed!! Thank you Shannon

Second to none!
I retained Shannon approx. 7 months ago when I was wrongfully terminated from my job in December. I was very leary to file a complaint like this seeing as how every other attorney I had spoken to was quick to try and discourage me about filing a suit. Shannon was the only attorney that gave me any sense of hope. Shannon is very involved and definitely gives 110%. She is diligent in her craft and keeps in contact every step of the way. Shannon is a fighter and will do everything she can for a successful outcome!

Very good experience
I consulted with the firm where Shannon works in January of 2013. I had a serious injury that I had sustained while I was already on maternity leave from work . My job was going to terminate me because I had exhausted all of my FMLA leave. I was panic stricken and my husband and I were prepared to spend our entire savings to retain an attorney to save my job. Shannon suggested that we just start out with a letter she could draft as a courtesy at no cost, and she wrote a very strongly worded letter about how their actions were in violation of federal law. She cited case law and everything! I not only kept my job, but because of my injuries they let me work from home for 2 days a week. It was really cool that during a very stressful time she wasnt quick to take our money and gave us a letter at no cost-- a letter that saved my job.

Free Because Of Attorney Briley
Attorney Shannon Denise Briley is the epitome of what a Criminal Defense Attorney should be: highly trained and knowledgeable, responsive to her client's needs, and ABOVE ALL, she is a truly COMPASSIONATE attorney who cares more about a favorabel client outcome, than she does how much dough she can rake in from each client. I had a felony charge where a female client accused me of an awful thing. This accusation caused me to lose my job position with the state of Georgia. Attorney Briley having reviewed and heard the facts of my case, was able to help get the charge DISMISSED (drpped) as of this Past Thursday (5-02-2013). Thank you Attorney, and glory to God. I highly recommend the Criminal Defense Services of Attorney Shannon Denise Briley. Shannon you are the BEST.

Mark these words anywhere.....
Shannon Briley is now in Private Practice at the Deming Parker Law firm but she was my Public Defender in Lumpkin and White County (Enotah Judicial Circuit) which is primarily (not necessarily negative) a "good ole boy" male dominated system. I had charges against me that while were "justifiable" to any layperson (or Lawyer, for that matter) she undertook and I had little faith that this woman could help me as HIRED legal counsel in my past seemed to disregard my feelings as a defendant much less MY RIGHTS! I WOULD NOT BE HERE writing this had Shannon not been my Attorney!! I would be in prison,I believe, or in a mental ward. They say that BIG things come in SMALL packages. I was not prepared for a POWERHOUSE like Shannon and I was mesmerized by her efficiency, knowledge of law and her capacity not only to represent me but to empathize with me concerning my case. Honestly, I was used to "the more money, the better the lawyer." Not so with Shannon. She was, in my eyes, an exemplary attorney in every respect, spending hours-or should I say, days, plodding through paperwork: investigative reports, records and research. I've had many attorneys, but never as skilled and as astute as this attorney. She (for lack of a better description) was a BULLDOG in Court and for the first time in my life I experienced the Justice System WORKING not passing the buck or deal-making for lack of money, time, prejudice or contempt prior to investigation. My hope is that one day soon our Courts will be filled with Judges, District Attorneys, Public Defense and Counselors with her spirit and tenacity...not because of who knows who but because, as "one's" representative..it's the RIGHT THING TO DO! The only drawback is that she left to practice elsewhere..but at least I know if I ever needed an attorney with passion, integrity and TRUE GRIT she's not far away.(little did I know she was taking care of a newborn, three toddlers and a husband while she was taking care of MY legal business

Road Rage vice Hit & Run 2013
By all means I USCG-CPO (retired), highly recommend the services and expertise of Attorney Shannon Briley. My experience with the "alledge" claim of "hit and run" was handled in the most expeditious, realistic, yet professional manner. The knowledge and advice was indeed invaluable for my defense of such ludicrous claim by individuals who were attempting to collect on me as if they hit the lotter or something. That said, life is much better for me as I speak. I encourage anyone that has a similiar incident to contact Shanon. She is the best and more than qualified. ##Shannon you Rock!!!

Shannon Briley Review
Ms. Briley represented me against a debt collection agency. I had previously paid the bill in full but I was still being harassed daily by this particular debt collector. Ms. Briley was quickly able to resolve the issue and stop the harassment. She also helped me with communicating to the credit rating agencies and my credit has improved significantly. The thing that most impressed with Ms. Briley is that she cares. She truly cares and will fight for you.

DO NOT HIRE THIS WOMAN
Do not hire her! I hired her for a child custody case and paid her up front. She never filed any documents that i asked. She did not return calls She has no office. She didn’t show up for court hearings and DID NOT show up for my final hearing! She had her friend contact me saying she couldn’t come to court because she was sick then emailed the judge that she was in the hospital and when the judge asked for proof, she could not produce it. It was embarrassing. The one time she did come to meet with me to get paid, she was very unorganized, she had stains all over her clothing and smelled bad! Also, I should have know she was a hoax When she didn’t have an office. My best friend got a speeding ticket and she charged him $500 to go to court. Except she never even notified him that charges were dropped against him and kept his $. When he asked for a refund she said she refunded it by pay pal but lied. He contacted her again for the refund that she agreed to and she sent him a copy of a blank money order and said it was sent in the mail. Needless to say, he never got his $ back and she never did a thing! DO NOT HIRE HER! She takes the $ and runs! She will tell you what you want to hear to get paid up front then won’t return your calls, won’t communicate with you about your case and won’t show up for court. Save yourself some embarrassment!

Stay away, Far Far Away..... Suspended by the BAR on 4/12/17 finally!
Hired and paid in advance never filed the Petition, lied for month it was filed, finally under notice of legal action against her, she filed, but failed to get the other party served and failed to communicate me of a hearing not going to the hearing resulting in case dismissed. On top of it, she made threats to me if I attempted to file a complaint. Guess what, I'm not the only one, she is now suspended from practice.

Incompetent & Criminal
Retained Shannon, paid the retainer in full. Shannon made ONE appearance which she was late for, didn't file one single petition or contempt on my behalf, I'll advised me on my "rights" which led to a current criminal felony case against myself ina mother state and has conepletelt disappeared, deleted all contact numbers, Facebook page, and cannot be found. Currently work with four others on a lawsuit and/or complaint with the GA bar association. DO NOT HIRE THIS WOMAN!

Poor
Hired her to represent me for my child custody case. I never could get in contact with her. She hardly ever returned my calls. She does not have a full time staff. When I replaced her with another she insulted me and basically told me my ex would win my case. But I am here to tell you things worked in my favor. TGBTG

civil rights
Never informed me properly about a civil rights case and an appeal. Very dissapointed with her and her former partner. Was not told they disolved their partnership, caused me added stress, by not knowing what was going on with my case. No paperwork was forwarded to me. Just left me hanging.
Response from Shannon Briley-Holmes May 1, 2013
I remember this case explicitily. The Client signed a contract with my former law partner and discussed the merits of the case as well as the fee agreement with her. I never spoke with the client personally before or at the time he retained her. My invovlement in this case was limited stricltly to assisting the partner research and draft a complaint which was timely submitted to avoid statute of limitations issues. As I informed client, I took a job with the government that precluded my continued involvement in the case meaning my former partner would be the primary attorney. Given that client had only communicated with her about the case and had only met with her to sign the contract this was not an issue. My former partner, Jennifer Knight, had sole control over the case and access to the file from October of 2011 throughout the duration. I have no knowledge of Ms. Knight's communication with him during his case, motions filed, discovery, nor do I have any knowledge whatsover regarding an appeal. I expressed concerns to Ms. Knight at the outset regarding the merits of the case and the Client's exaggeration of injuries that could not be substantiated and his aggressive behavior towards police officers after he attacked his wife. Any interested parties can please the docket of this case by going onto PACER and putting in a search for Harry Collins v. City of Macon, 5:11-CV-00392.
