Saved my Career & Life

In 2013, I had a automotive incident (accidental hit while merging HWY-141 from parking lot), for which I was not allowed to take my Citizenship OAT ceremony. It was the day I learned that automotive accidents are considered as Criminal in GA. Just like any typical computer guy who never got exposed ...to the law, I was scared to death, not knowing what happens to my career. Mr.Watson handled this case like a breeze and got it resolved, and guided me all the way. I will remember Mr.Watson's professionalism, experience in his domain. Thanks a million, Mr.Watson. My goto Attorney FOREVER

Case dismissed - simple battery

Evan did a great job! A+. I'm in my 50's, and was was 1st time arrested for a simple battery domestic case. I had NO clue who to cantact when I got out of jail (can check 'what is jail like' off the bucket list), so I did a google search and his name came up at the top with good reviews in Forsyth... County. He responded very quickly to my VM. In the initial meeting we went over the specifics and he determind we should be able to get the case dismissed. While 9 out of 10 times simple battery end's in a plea bargin, he determined my odd case was one of the 10% that probably could be dismissed. That's exactly how it ended, and he even filed an expungement as part of his service without me having to ask. His fee's were resonable (certainly cheaper then the divorce attorney I later hired, as a Plaintiff). Fyi for any noob's like me to this process, be forewarned, it is VERY SLOW. If you come from the private sector business world where things move very fast it will drive you nuts. Your attorney can't do much until the Solicitor/Prosecutor start's looking at the file, which for us was around the Jury Trial Date! If you are lucky they may get to you right before the "Priority Calander Call". That took 8 months! Not much the Defense lowayer can do about that. Defense Lawyers take on heavy client loads, so I found it's best to contact their paralegals for updates or deliver a message ro setup appointment until you get to your court dates.

Great advice, call Evan Watson

Just about a year and half ago I was pulled over with my wife and an injured passenger in my car and had the unfortunate experience of going through the DUI process in Forsyth County. If you have never gone through this I can tell you it’s something you want to avoid at all costs, and Uber is a mu...ch better option, even if you are just slightly impaired. After being detained and taken to jail for processing my wife had a subsequent conversation that night with a person who had a good working knowledge and understanding of how the DUI process works. She told my wife – “If it was my family member I would reach out Evan Watson”, at Zeliff/Watson, Attorneys at Law in Cumming GA. From the first meeting I had with Evan and his team I felt incredibly comfortable with his knowledge of the State and County laws as they pertain to the DUI process. He had already watched my dash cam video before our meeting and picked up on key points to my case that would be relevant in court at that particular time based on other upcoming rulings in a higher court. He intently listened to my story and what I believed where extenuating circumstance to my situation, regarding the injured person in my car. We discussed options and created a plan of action on how to handle my case as it related to my specific situation. Subsequent meetings either by phone or in person where always met with a true concern for what my family and I were going through, and I never felt like I was just a person being pushed through the system in an effort to close out a case and collect a check. Evan and his team made a point to make sure I was 100% comfortable with our plan and stayed with me throughout the whole ordeal, and performed additional work on my behalf months after the verdict was handed down. What most people don’t understand is this is a very long, somewhat depressing and tedious process you have to go through to complete all of the requirements that the State and County may hand down. It’s not over the day you walk out of the court room; that is really just the beginning. Depending on your case there could be fines, community service, jail time and probation to deal with. Eight months removed from my case being settled, I have had several occasions to reach out to Evan for advice on matters related to my case during this process and he was always available. When you are faced with this type of crisis in your life or your family’s life you want someone who can remove all the outside distractions and cut to the heart of the matter and provide you with sound advice based on your case. There were several times when my wife and I were scared and concerned about the outcome and what might happen to me based on all the outside information you hear from others. Evan has the ability to take the complicated laws and statutes of our State and break it down into very easy to understand steps from the beginning to its conclusion. The outcome of my case could have gone in several different directions, but Evan was able to make sure that my situation was clear to the judge and the District Attorney, providing me the best outcome I could expect. In my opinion Evan’s firm is the greatest example of how an Attorney /client relationship should work and I could not give anyone a better recommendation than that. He was a total professional in the way he approached my case. He keeps it real and tells you the facts as he sees it based on his experience. He gives you sound advice on what could happen in court, and I feel very strongly that Evan truly listened to my concerns and issues as it related to my case and did everything he could to make a bad situation better for me and my family.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
