Marcy grew up in a small town in upstate New York and attended college at the State University of New York at Potsdam. She graduated in 1999 with a B.A. in both Math and Education. After many trips to Atlanta throughout college to visit a high school friend, she moved to Georgia to attend Georgia State law school from 2001 to 2004. In 2004, Marcy began her career with a small law firm in Lawrenceville that focused on family law and criminal law, where she tried cases, argued motions, and managed her own caseload.
In 2006, she joined a medium size firm in Buckhead, where she gained the experience and organization offered by larger firms. In 2008, Marcy took the experience she gained from the small firm and the knowledge she obtained from the larger firm and began her own practice.
Marcy’s parents divorced when she was thirteen. Although it was an amicable divorce, Marcy acted out to get her parent’s attention. After reflection and therapy, Marcy began to understand how one parent’s behavior can affect a child and how the non-offending parent can help their children navigate a divorce. It was at this time she decided to focus her law practice on family law.
Marcy’s efforts have reunited children with their parents, separated children and spouses from abusive parties, and obtained child support for children and their custodial parents. Marcy's real life experience of being a child of divorced parents has also helped her understand what it means to act in the best interest of the children and advise her clients how to protect the best interest of the children. Marcy's real life experiences and legal expertise helps her clients obtain the best possible results in an already difficult situation

Marcy Millard is an absolute hero. Her team is kind, compassionate, and crazy efficient. Johana is a no nonsense power house with a heart of gold. When I was scared and felt like I had no voice, Marcy spoke up for me. She was my guiding light in a very dark time. Her dedication to helping others is a...

"I endorse this lawyer. When it is time for court, she has done her homework, and she is ready to go."
"I have gotten to know Marcy through GAWL breakfast meetings over the past several years, and I have been very favorably impressed with her. She demonstrates not only the knowledge and experience which are critical in an attorney, but also a great deal of tact, caring, and compassion. These are particularly important for a family lawyer who works with people during divorces and other difficult emotional times."
"Marcy is a great advocate for her clients. She is professional, well prepared and works hard so her cases are handled efficiently."
"I had a case with Marcy a few months back and in addition to being a consummate professional throughout the case, she zealously advocated on her client's behalf to ensure a fair and just resolution was reached. Highly recommended."
"I endorse this lawyer's work. I have gotten to know Marcy over the course of the past two years and I have found her to be honest, dependable and resourceful."
"Marcy is passionately committed to the best interest of her clients. In addition to her technical skills as an attorney, Marcy has the unique ability to be understanding of the emotional drain a divorce causes to her client while at the same time providing her clients with an honest and practical assessment of the legal options available (or not available as the case may be). Her clients know she is their advocate, and they also know she will tell the truth about their options. I highly recommend Marcy as an attorney."
"Marcy is a smart, capable and determined lawyer. Her clients' are well served by her. I wholeheartedly endorse her work."
"I work in the same building as Marcy and see her work every day. She has the right mix of compassion and tenacity to represent her clients as both an aggressive attorney and counselor. I refer my friends going through divorces to Marcy."
"Marcy is a smart, aggressive litigator that works tirelessly to get good results for her clients. However, Marcy also understands that many clients want an easy cost effective divorce without a long drawn-out legal fight. I am impressed with her legal skills and client-friendly uncontested rates, and have referred several friends to Marcy. I will continue to recommend Marcy without hesitation."
"I see firsthand everyday how Marcy truly cares for her clients and works diligently to get each and every client the right result for his or her situation. Not only does Marcy want the best for her clients, she is genuinely concerned about the children who are involved in divorce and child support matters. Marcy often works as a guardian ad litem in cases that other lawyers handle to provide the courts with insights into how the children may be affected by a divorce proceeding. Marcy is also involved with Visions Anew, a non-profit organization that helps those who are going through a divorce cope with a life-changing process."
