Horrible service, not reliable!!!!!!!! Stay far away!!!!

Marcy Millard served as my attorney for barely 15-days (May 14 to May 29, 2015). I submitted a retainer fee of $3,500 together with a 3-page retainer contract document with no billing rate plan. This large sum of money was quickly exhausted in seven (7) days of double-billing and padding-the-bill spa...nning 05/15, 05/18, 05/19, 05/20, 05/26, 05/27, and 05/29. I had to terminate her representation because my relatively simple divorce became a quagmire, no progress and the result of the 30-days conference held on May 26 2015 was dismal. I called her law office 4-times from May 27 thru May 29, 2015 after the ill-fated 30-days mediation conference call, I was unable to setup an appointment to discuss my concerns. At first, the law firm presented themselves as aggressive, responsive, and ready to powerfully and excellently represent me. During the first 30-days conference, I was coaxed into to sign away my pre-martial personal properties and rights, and as soon as I signed on dotted line a court order was issued without my knowledge since Marcy Millard failed to give me a copy of the court. I was unaware of the court order until my ex took my daughter and moved her to a different school and daycare in Gwinnett as well as denied me visitation rights, I withhold child support. Then, I became aware that Fulton Superior court had issued a court order on May 26 2015 which Marcy Millard did not make available to me. I was bilked $5,700 on my credit card with double-billing and bill-padding. In 7-days billing, all five paralegals touched whatever documents they prepared and billed me from $100-$150/hr. as well as $350/hr. for her review. Beware of this “shark” PISTRIS Law firm. The majority of the time billed to this client's account related to the mediation that occurred at the initial appearance in court and lasted 7 hours. We only have one paralegal and the Mr. Ezee failed to pay his bill. We needed to mediate at the initial appearance in Court because Mr. Ezee's spouse indicated she was moving out of the house that Friday and, without an agreement, planned to take the child with her. At that mediation, I was able to get opposing counsel to agree for Mr. Ezee to have more time with his child than his spouse. We, also, agreed to a reduced amount of support. At mediation, we discussed a temporary division of certain property. At no point did we discuss a final division of property nor did I ask him to sign over pre-marital property. The discussion of whether property was pre-marital or not did not occur because we only dealt with who was going to take what furniture when the parties moved out. In the month that we represented Mr. Ezee, we attended a 7 hour mediation, prepared and filed an Answer, Mandatory Interrogatories and Required documents and served Mr. Ezee's responses to opposing party’s discovery requests and Mr. Ezee's discovery requests to opposing party. I understand that litigation and the legal system can be daunting and stressful, which is why we meet with clients when necessary.

Marcy is outstanding

I hired Marcy Millard to represent me in a child custody and modification case. When I got divorced, the settlement that I agreed to was not fair to me and did not take into account the significant role that I play in my son’s life. I had to wait two years after I signed the divorce agreement befor...e I could modify it. After waiting two years and having to abide by an agreement that was patently unfair to me, I was more than ready to obtain a modification that would provide a just result. I have always been close to my son and although he was spending 3 days and 4 nights per week with me, I still had to pay my ex-wife the full amount of child support in accordance with the state guidelines. So even though I was paying full child support to my ex, I still had to clothe him, feed him and otherwise support him during the time he was with me. The financial burden was frustrating and overwhelming. The first attorney that I hired to represent me purported to specialize in men’s rights and so I assumed I would have aggressive representation. Unfortunately the original attorney was passive, nonchalant and allowed my ex to drag the case on indefinitely so that she could maintain the lifestyle that she had become accustomed to. I wasted thousands of dollars on this attorney and was constantly having to call for status updates and to prod them to move the case forward. After a year of dealing with this, I decided that I needed to find an attorney who would take an aggressive approach and move my case to a conclusion. Hiring Marcy Millard was one of the best decisions that I’ve made in my life. When I initially met with her, I outlined my frustration at how my ex was stonewalling the process and my attorney was unwilling or unable to move the case forward. Marcy outlined a plan of action and communicated specifically how we would go about bringing my case to a resolution. Marcy was aggressive from the start and kept me updated weekly on the status of my case. She was able to use motions and subpoenas to prod my ex and her attorney to act. When they continued to lag in providing us information, Marcy filed a Motion to Compel and the judge forced them to turn over all required documents in order to build a strong case. Marcy is relentless and a tireless advocate for her clients. She really gave me a sense of relief because I felt confident that I had the right representation. The end result was even better than I could have imagined. I was afforded joint physical custody, decision-making authority over my son’s education and extra-curricular activities and even more surprising, I no longer had to pay any child support. My relationship with my son has never been better because I am able to be the father that I always wanted to be to him without having to be overburdened by the system. This is one father’s testimonial and I always wish the best for those father’s like myself who work hard to be a strong presence in their son’s life despite the relationship with the mother and the intrusiveness of the family support system. If you need a good attorney, you don’t need to look any further. If you want to prevail in any type of family law dispute you must have sound legal representation. If you don’t have a good attorney, you’re not going to win. It’s that simple. Marcy Millard has reasonable rates and her representation is top notch. There is no attorney out there who could have gotten a better result. I am constantly referring people to her because she knows what she’s doing and she does it well. Family law is an emotional and sensitive matter. Don’t waste time or money. If you want rock-solid representation, call Marcy.

Professional review

I found Marcy through the legal aide ctr in Atlanta. I was looking for an experienced family attorney that could objectively review my post jugdement, current financial situation and offer me sound legal advice. Marcy kept me informed throughout the process as we negociated with the opposing party f...or our motion for modification of child support. I would certainly recommend her for family law issues.
