Your case is about you, and I'm here to help. My #1 burning question is always, what can I do to help you? I'm here to point you in the right direction and shed some light on your situation.
I grew up in Rock Hill, then came to Spartanburg to go to Wofford College, where I graduated in 1996. I graduated from law school at the University of South Carolina in 2000.
After that, I worked as a law clerk for a state circuit court judge in Barnwell, who held court mostly in Aiken, Bamberg, and Barnwell. After a year there, I returned to the Upstate in 2001 to practice law in Easley.
In 2005, I joined this firm. I am grateful to practice law here. I am thankful to be part of the Spartanburg community, where my wife and I raise our four children. We belong to First Presbyterian Church here in town, where I've served as a deacon. Over the years, I've served Spartanburg on the boards of the local Red Cross and TOTAL Ministries, a mission funded by local churches to feed and clothe the less fortunate. Most recently, I got appointed by the governor to serve on the board for the Spartanburg Area Mental Health Center, giving me a golden opportunity to help our community reach out to those gripped by the pain and isolation of mental health challenges.
I've been honored to be an elected leader within the legal profession as a two-term member of the board of directors for the state criminal defense lawyers association and chairman of the personal injury and insurance committee of the South Carolina Bar.
For my entire legal career starting in 2001, I've worked to help people who got hurt through no fault of their own and defend people accused of crime, including DUI. I've tried numerous cases to a jury verdict, from car accidents to residential construction to assault and battery with intent to kill, and DUIs. I've also tried several workers’ compensation hearings.
The best thing about being a lawyer is I get to be a voice for folks who might not otherwise have one. I am very proud of the people I help and the causes I represent.
Any result for a prior client does not necessarily indicate similar results can be obtained for other clients, and every case must be evaluated on its unique facts and law.

Fantastic!
Rob is one of the most pleasant and respectful people I have ever met. He never made me feel unsure or regret my decision to go with him. I was always greeted with a smile and knowing that he was doing everything he could for myself, my son, and my case. I loved the fact knowing I didn't feel like I ...
You're mighty kind Brianna! Thank you for pointing out my fundamental goal for every client- to educate you how your case works and keep you informed of every major development, so I can empower you to make a great decision to solve your legal problem. It's a joy to help hardworking, devoted parents like you!

DUI 2nd
I have actually hired Rob Usry not once, but twice! Our first issue related to a minor accident and a charge of Driving under the Influence of alcohol. Rob instructed me on the activities I could take to increase my chances for a better outcome. These activities along with his talent for working with...
Thank you for your kind words! In criminal and DUI cases, I'm not afraid to employ what some would consider an unusual strategy- actually working with law enforcement- as long as it'll help my client. And I do guarantee to all my clients I'll always tell the truth- even if it's what they don't want to hear, because you need to know. I'm delighted we got this result for you, but you did one of the most important things to help me help you- you helped yourself! As far as scheduling goes, that was sorta lucky- but in my years as a lawyer, I've found sometimes the harder I work the luckier I get! Thank you again for sharing your story- I'm so grateful I could get it worked out for you!

WRONGFUL DEATH CASE
Robert Usry helped me with the up most effort in my Brother and mother wrongful deaths case ending with a victory in a settled case awarding me with a fair share of money. Mr. Usry fought the health insurance companies for me because their bills were extremely high on both my brother and mother to th...
Trimaine- Thank you for being so kind. You've touched on some of the unseen benefits we provide- helping folks deal with health insurance reimbursements, giving comfort to the grieving and hurt, treating all with respect, and just plain working hard.

DV 2nd degree disaster
While I never thought in a million years that I would be arrested, I was. I was arrested for DV. It was certainly a horrible experience. Between the jail, dealing with the police, and finding out that the case would take months to resolve, I felt like everything I worked hard for was slipping way. ...
Thank you- this is a highly informative review for anyone needing a criminal defense lawyer. I'm thankful our "pros" far outweighed your only "con"- that I'm not a cheap lawyer! My firm works hard to make you comfortable by keeping in touch, working hard to build your defense, and being honest- even if you don't want to hear it. That's what the attorney-client relationship is about, a relationship built on trust. All the best to you, and thank you again for this glimpse into your case.

Ekman Review
July 18th, 2016 is a day my family will never forget. We lost our Mom and oldest sister that day in a horrible auto accident at the fault of another driver. Overcome with grief, we knew we needed to seek legal help. None of us had a lot of experience with attorneys, but a friend highly recommended th...
