Great Attorney

I was facing a Summary Court Martial and possible administrative separation after 15 years in the Marine Corps. Mr Kopka was very honest and up front with best and worst case scenarios which could happen due to the legal issues I had. Fortunately, Mr Kopka was able to help me secure the best possib...le out come for my case. Mr Kopka and his office worked tirelessly on my case and were available whenever I needed them. I always received an immediate response from Ms Duverger, the paralegal and felt completely comfortable and confident in their ability to handle my case. Mr Kopka is very familiar with legal and law enforcement personal (along the East Coast) which helps him to fully understand the situation of a case and provide the best legal options to his clients. Thanks to Law Office of Mr Kopka, I will be able to finish my Marine Corps career with an HONOR!

False Urinalysis

Upon returning home from a deployment I was notified by my chain of command that I had tested positive for a controlled substance while operational. It was apparent that I needed to seek help and guidance from outside of the Marine Corps as I was immediately notified that administrative separation wa...s imminent. From my first conversation with Eric I was given hope of a future despite actions that were being taken against me. Eric explained the differences between allegations & charges, how false positives are very common in the military and the process to be taken in order to defend my innocence. The entire process from start to finish was lengthy and took relatively 6 months to fully clear my name. With Eric’s help I was never subjected to a separation board or Court Martial which would have only lengthened the process. Eric’s knowledge, professionalism and confidence was apparent from start to finish. He continually took a strategic approach to defending me and taught me the essence of when it was imperative to remain silent in order to allow him to rebuttal. Eric is one of the sole reasons why I still have a career within the military. He has my utmost appreciation, respect and recommendation. If you are seeking any sort of false prosecution from the military or are in need of legal representation this is the individual you need to hire to defend you in your case. Eric, sincerely thank you for your dedication, commitment and audacity when it comes to defending those of us who have been wrongly accused. Your impact has been inspirational and your devotion to duty has allowed me to serve in the capacity I was designed for.

Administrative Seperation

I was facing very serious allegations in civilian court which resulted in the Marine Corps wanting to separate me. Having no experience with anything along these lines before I, and my family, knew we needed legal assistance. After meeting with a base lawyer and not feeling very confident, I decided ...to reach out to Mr. Kopka. From our first meeting I immediately knew that he was a professional and experienced. He always seemed like he cared about my case and would work diligently to get the outcome for me that my family and I needed. He and his staff were always available to answer questions for me as well as for my family members. Through his attention to detail and professionalism he was able to get the board to come to a decision to discharge with a General Under Honorable characterization. With this characterization my family will still be able to get the benefits they need, which was what was most important to me throughout this entire process. I would absolutely recommend his services to any one in need of legal advice and assistance. Our family will always be grateful for his hard work and dedication to my case.

my son and the USMC

I hired Mr. Kopkas firm to represent my son when he got in trouble while enlisted.I had no previous knowledge how the marines judicial system worked and put all my trust in this firm to help save my sons career with the military. They did not .I have never written a review and fell compelled to let ot...her people know how I feel about their performance on this case.I was not informed on any progress at any time and when I called their office had a hard time getting any info or even a courtesy call back.I honestly feel they wanted to get paid and did not put any effort into my sons case.I wish I hired another attorney maybe we would have had a better outcome .I am sorry I had to leave this review and I thought long and hard about doing so,

False Urinalysis

I was a Cpl in the USMC, I was finishing my first term, and reenlisting but while I was deployed at the time, I got shipped back home because before I left the unit took a urinalysis after the 4th of July 96. Everyone know there will be a urinalysis and I didn't have to worrie about anything because ...ive never done drugs in my life. But I popped on the urinalysis for codine(Pain Killers) for 200 nanograms over. Which could have been anything like the SACO not following protocol, or eating something that could mess with the test. But my CO didn't care he tried burning me for everything i had, I knew I didn't do anything, i called multiple lawyers and no one made me feel as comfortable at Eric Kopka, he did a amazing job, we had weekly meetings and if I ever had a question he was always a phone call away. He helped me prove myself innocent when I was trying to be proven guilty in a court marshall, and I thank him and his team for saving my future over something I never did. Mr. Kopka looks out for the little people that need the help, and for that in my opinion he is the best lawyer you could ask for.
