Bottom line: Mr. Eric Kopka and his team's work over a year's span resulted in the Marine Corps deciding to retain me in the service as a Captain at 10 years of service at a Board of Inquiry. Mr. Kopka himself has tremendous Marine Corps and legal experience as a Lieutenant Colonel that still serves ...in the Reserves. In consultation and during the conduct of the board he offered excellent, candid counsel that guaranteed success and maintained my integrity and honor as a Marine Corps Officer. His team are highly experienced, flexible, and patient professionals. I never once was worried about the attorney I hired or the team working alongside me. After the Board of Inquiry decided to retain me Mr. Kopka unfortunately missed his return flight because of how long the day was. Instead of staying overnight in a hotel to get a flight for the next day, which could have potentially incurred more cost to me as his client, he slept overnight in the airport. This is the kind of man Mr. Kopka is. I couldn't give a higher recommendation to anyone else for representation of military men and women that may have taken a misstep in their time of service. Eric Kopka is the best military lawyer out there! As an LDO Maj, I served 25yrs and was selected to LtCol. After enduring nearly 18 months of an extremely toxic and failing command several of the senior leaders to include myself found ourselves subject to reprisal. Promotions as well as careers hung... in the balance. Mr. Kopka was quickly able to assemble the facts and worked with competent authorities to ensure undue command influence did not compromise the integrity of investigations and command decisions. I was admittedly concerned in the beginning that a miscarriage of justice would occur as that often seems the shear nature of things. Mr. Kopka masterfully found, assembled and presented the facts in a manner in which they could not be refuted. My senior Marine leadership carefully weighed and measured the facts as I hoped and expected they would. The toxic individual at the crux of the problem was properly reprimanded and I am ultimately satisfied with the overall outcome. It was extremely stressful and costly. When you need a Military Lawyer look no farther. Unfortunately I had an anonymous complaint against me. My unit moved me to another unit while conducting the investigation. My command did not inform me of the allegation. Nor did they inform me of where anything was in the process. I had zero idea of ...what was going on, within 24 hours of hiring Eric I knew basically what the complaint was. He kept me informed where the process was and consistently kept me informed of the next step. If I did not hire Eric I would have either made a mistake risking my career, or been extremely distracted by not knowing what was happening. Because of the peace of mind Eric gave me I was able to focus on my responsibilities and kept a positive attitude. I believe the outcome would have different if I didn’t hire him. Eric was referred to our family when we were concerned the cost to retain private legal consul for our son would put an enormous strain on our finances.
