Eric Kopka and his paralegal Frederique Bedson are amazing!!! Extremely knowledgeable of the system and very thorough in their preparation and delivery. DO NOT WAIT until it’s too late, hire him as soon as there is any sign you might need an attorney! Had I just trusted anyone to represent me or e...ven the assigned counsel, then the outcome would have vastly different. Eric will give you all the facts and recommendations to help you understand the legal process and make decisions. I lived in a completely different state and yet that never slowed Eric down! He was far more responsive, active, and knowledgeable than my originally assigned counsel that was working on the same base that I was. Not to say that assigned counsel are bad…but most are typically less experienced and are overloaded with other cases, standard military training, education for furthering their career, and the list goes on. My assign counsel was professional and seemed eager to assist, however they were never available and rarely had information for me. It was extremely hard for me to just trust a stranger with my career and future so I asked a great deal of questions. He was far more knowledgeable of the process than my command, command legal, and apparently those advising my command. When it was said and done, Eric was right about everything. Eric Kopka is the best military lawyer out there! As an LDO Maj, I served 25yrs and was selected to LtCol. After enduring nearly 18 months of an extremely toxic and failing command several of the senior leaders to include myself found ourselves subject to reprisal. Promotions as well as careers hung... in the balance. Mr. Kopka was quickly able to assemble the facts and worked with competent authorities to ensure undue command influence did not compromise the integrity of investigations and command decisions. I was admittedly concerned in the beginning that a miscarriage of justice would occur as that often seems the shear nature of things. Mr. Kopka masterfully found, assembled and presented the facts in a manner in which they could not be refuted. My senior Marine leadership carefully weighed and measured the facts as I hoped and expected they would. The toxic individual at the crux of the problem was properly reprimanded and I am ultimately satisfied with the overall outcome. It was extremely stressful and costly. Mr. Kopka was hired by me because of some sexual assault allegations, he advised me through the whole process from the beginning. Even though it was a long process, he continued to follow up with the Military side and kept me informed the whole way. I believe because of his advice and guidance throug...h this whole process, the case was closed with no pending charges. He is very personal, professional and has your best interest at all times. He knows Military law and is good at what he does. I highly recommend him and would not change anything if I had to do it over again.
