DUI Representation

Had a great experience with Matthew Barry. He has a base charge for everything no matter how extensive the process turns out to be. He called and texted me multiple times and during and after the process to ensure I was fully taken care of. He provided advice on next steps to help in my case but also... my own well-being. He consolidated all the information about the case as well as my background into a formal rebuttal document for my case. I would definitely recommend him for cases/issues you may run into in the future.

For any Cadet Facing Disenrollment...

I am a cadet that reached out to Mr. Barry for consultation as I was facing the reality of possibly going through the process of disenrollment. Mr. Barry was very straightforward and blunt with how Cadet Command may function to any case. As my case is personal, I will not go into the details of what ...I did to potentially face disenrollment and needed a waiver approved to commission - I will continue to highlight Mr. Barry's patience with me as I went through my endeavor. For any cadet who needs some consultations to make a few decisions or any cadet that is facing a disenrollment board, Mr. Barry will do his best and always give you an honest answer. Sometimes it may be an answer we do not want to hear but it is absolutely necessary. Things had worked out in the best way possible for me and therefore I did not have have to follow through with hiring Mr. Barry but had they went through with a disenrollment board, Mr. Barry would have been my number one choice to be the man in my corner. I may even argue that Mr. Barry did a bit more than he was obligated to - beyond just a few consultations. For that, I must give him my thanks - for his patience. Whatever positive leadership traits he had prior in the military before moving on to private practice, it is obvious that the said said traits followed Mr. Barry in helping those needing some consultations from him or full on help.

QMP Matters

I was being reviewed by the Army QMP board. I was told by JAG officers that it was no hope for my case and that I should prepare to get out of the army. Another lawyer gave me Mr. Barry’s contact for another matter. I gave him a call and told him about my situation. It was three weeks away from my bo...ard packed submission date. He actually showed me that he cared and told me he knows that it’s a good chance that he could convince the board that I should be retained. With in two weeks he wrote a very detailed memo that I was very impressed with. Thanks to Mr. Barry I still have a job in the military and that whole situation is behind me now. If you need help with QMP matter or anything related to military law I recommend you give him a call.

Saved my life

Matt is skilled, dedicated, and sympathetic as my counsel. When I felt that something was off, it was relief to find someone like Matt Barry who took the time to help and explain everything for me. I am certain had I not, my life would be much worse off professionally and personally. I was not in a g...ood state mentally and emotionally and I credit Matt for turning that around and giving me hope again. There is no price I could place for that, why I can say that his services went beyond what I imagined it would've and why I will forever be grateful. Thank you.

The Best Lawyer to Win Your Case

I have consulted and hired numerous lawyers during my crisis and Matt hails as the best lawyer I have ever hired. I was facing elimination by the Army and an Army Grade Determination Board for simply what I would call some typical Army BS. But whatever it is Matt is right there with you every step of... the way. He won my case and I am retiring as a LTC honorably. After about 23 years of service you deserve someone like Matt to protect your career. What truly stands out about Matt is he is personable and always there when you need him. He was always a text and a phone call away. He never refused to talk to you and always provided counsel. I mean he was literally right there 24/7 for me. Thank you so much Matt. My family thanks you. Give Matt the opportunity to fight and win your case. Your career and family deserve nothing but the best. The Army is a machine and it will consume you if you do not seek legal counsel and hire the best lawyer you can find. I cannot stress that above sentence enough. If you are facing elimination or an AGDRB you cannot go at it alone. If Matt does not know the answer he searches for it relentlessly and gets back to you promptly. A lot of lawyers tell you what you want to hear. Matt tells you what you need to hear and the actions necessary to fight it. Again, we cannot praise you enough for your competence, but the compassion and empathy you showed towards me. I was in a tough spot. Now I am about to retire and move on.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
