Matthew Louis Barry

Matt Barry is an excellent lawyer. He is also personable. He treats you like family, will tell you the progress, and will pick up the phone and talk to you and calm you down when you are nervous about the case. He is also very knowledgeable about military law as he is a retired military lawyer, he kn...ows the procedure inside and out, he knows what the judge or board want to hear. He will tell you what to prepare, what to do to increase your chance of winning. He also will work with your TDS if you have one. As soon as he work on the case, I know I am in good hand, that I would get the best outcome I could possibly get. I totally recommend him if you need lawyer for military matter.

At the tail end of a deployment I was erroneously accused of misconduct by a disgruntled subordinate outside my chain of command. I contacted Matthew Barry because I just did not trust the Army’s due process for accused Officers. Mr Barry immediately called me back and we discussed the nature of the ...accusations and investigation. Mr Barry was extremely professional during the consultation call. He did not oversell the situation or create a fear induced reaction to retain him as other military lawyers I contacted had attempted to do. Mr Barry broke down how he handles this type of situation and how it’s worked well for him with previous clients. I retained him on the spot. Once retained he was extremely responsive to my concerns and questions. He was very real in his responses and used historic examples to answer all my questions and concerns. We answered the questions of the IO in writing together and provided guidance on what he believed the IO/accuser were trying to get at so that we answered smartly to the questions. The investigation concluded and all accusations against me were found to be unsubstantiated by the two-star general reviewing the investigation. I was very grateful to Mr Barry for his help.

I reached out to Matthew Barry to help resolve an AWOL case that was many years old. I am beyond glad that I did. Matt knew the law and the people at the base and was able to get my case solved without me having to even deal with anyone myself. He always explained everything and the possible outcomes... before we made any decision and was very obviously on my side. Attorney Barry put together my rebuttal packet for a special selection board review (SSRB) and it was a success. I don’t think there is an attorney that is more knowledgeable than he is, when it comes to putting these packets together. Att. Barry demonstrated very detailed understanding of what neede...d to be done for my SSRB. The SSRB is (at the time of this writing) a new promotion review process that is different from previous promotion review boards. Before hiring Att. Barry, I consulted with at least 3 other attorneys who did not seem to even know what an SSRB was, and would have likely handled this like previous promotion review boards. Despite the SSRB being a new process, Barry was already dialed in on procedure, and knew the best course of action to take. Very dedicated; very responsive; I highly recommend!
