Mr. Barry significantly helped provide my evidence to my Commander, giving him the real story, with full details!

Attorney Matthew Barry became my Defense Attorney to represent me as I was pending five charges. Bottom line up front, Mr. Barry significantly helped provide my evidence to my Commander, giving him the real story, with full details. Mr. Barry truly listened to what I had to say, and throughout the en...tire duration, I felt like someone was on my side. Most importantly, Mr. Barry gave me honest advice, and remained diligent in my case. In summary, As a SGT in the Army I was faced with multiple charges. It began with a recommendation for an article 15 for a failure to report to PT, and a failure to report to work call. I was then accused of being drunk on duty. After missing PT formation, my new NCOIC told my leadership that he expected me of being “drunk”. After being taken to the MP station for a breathalyzer test, I was found to have a .0 something BAC, and my charge was changed to incapacitated to fulfill my duties. At this point, I hadn’t thought about getting a lawyer. It wasn’t until halfway through my enrollment in the Army’s Alcohol Program in which I was questioned by CID for a pending sexual assault charge. At that very moment I knew I needed to look for a lawyer and declined to the scope of questions from CID until I had a lawyer present. Quickly, I found Mr. Barry through a search and read through his site very thoroughly. I read extremely positive reviews and decided to take a chance. Luckily for me, Mr. Barry willingly and quickly accepted to represent me for the CID questions and pending article 15 charges. As we went over the details of my case throughout the month, Mr. Barry remained honest about what to expect being guilty of being absent from a formation, but most importantly offered resources of others in my area of South Korea for any court martial hearing in the case he couldn’t attend, had I chosen that route. Mr. Barry and I spent almost two months waiting to hear any details regarding the CID case of the alleged sexual assault as I was left out of the loop, clueless, and worried since I hold a TS clearance. My command remained silent throughout the duration of the investigation, and I never heard back from CID. In the meantime, Mr. Barry took my case of failure to report to PT and work call, and incapacitated to fulfill my duties charges, and started working on those matters. After two months, CID finally reach the verdict of not guilty, and I was relieved. By this time, I was also accused of having violated a no drinking order, totaling 5 charges. Mr. Barry read through my hearing packet and listened to everything I had to say. Mr. Barry included my evidence, my witness testimony in the sexual assault case, and heard my issues. Overall, I was guilty of violating a no drinking order, and having failed to report to PT; Although I lost my rank and received an oral reprimand, the article was filed locally. However, while at my second hearing, my Command Team, Battalion Commander, and CSM, took over an hour to debate on what they should do, and I have a strong feeling it was regarding the matters that Mr. Barry was able to help me with. The way Mr. Barry was able to see all angles of my case and help to showcase these angles to my Commander was truly helpful. I would not have been able to do this alone and most importantly, Mr. Barry’s helped assured me someone was on my side. I wasn’t even contacted by Army Legal until after the investigation was over because they were booked. I would hire Mr. Barry again if I ever needed it and commend him for his ability to be considerate to my feelings, diligent, and overall enthusiastic about putting my matters together. For anyone wanting to hire Mr. Barry, make sure to be completely honest with him, and he will ensure he can do the best he can to help you with your case!

Great lawyer.

Matthew Barry immediately got to work when charges were preferred against me. He put together a case that eventually led to my charges being dismissed. He is a must hire.

Attorney Barry is a must hire!

If your on the fence on who to hire as your military lawyer, look no further because Attorney Matthew Barry is your man! I had a false SA/SHARP accusation levied against me during an ugly divorce leading to a CID investigation. Mr. Barry was very straightforward and honest. Told me the good, the bad,... and what potential outcomes would come from the investigation. He reviewed all the evidence I provided and gave me quick feedback. The information he gave me on "what to expect" from the investigators prior to the CID interview was very helpful. They literally did and said everything that he told me they would. He shared all updates with me and conducted follow up to ensure the case was moving. The case came back unfounded/unsubstantiated and I have my life and career back on track! Thank you so much Mr. Barry.

Satisfied Senior Leader

Attorney Matthew Barry, is the lawyer you want representing you. I was in a frantic faced with career ending accusations. I googled lawyers using a few key words and more than once Matthew Barry came up. After reading his page, I called the number. I was unsuccessful in reaching anyone. However, mome...nts later I received a text from Mr. Barry asking if we could coordinate a time to speak. I told him my situation and within an hour he called me back. I was so shocked and grateful at the same time. I’ve never been in the situation I was faced with and at any moment CID could call for me. Mr. Barry was very calm and in moments presented a way forward that instantly gave me piece. Immediately he made me feel good that he had seen my case before and with assurance he could assist me in navigating forward. I hired him within the next hour and he provided documentation that protected me via email in the same key stroke. I promise two hours might had past and I received that dreadful call. Having hired Mr. Barry and my documents in hand I reported with confidence to the authorities. Matthew was methodical and strategic throughout the almost 7 months of hell, at least that is what I call what I went through. He is a clear and factual individual; his documents read the same. If you are looking for a lawyer who is strong, knowledgeable, articulate and well versed in military issues. Call Mr. Barry, you will not be disappointed. My GOMAR was rescinded/destroyed a first in 7years for my installation; the elimination case was closed and retained on active duty is what I received. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Matthew.

Successful SSRB Outcome

Matthew Barry is extremely responsive, professional, and knowledgeable. I found Matthew after doing a Google search for lawyers who assist with the Army's new SSRB for reviewing promotions after the list is published. If you are not aware, this process is new. Matthew and I both were in uncharted wat...ers; however, he applied his same advocacy and knowledge base from experience with similar DOD processes to this new, undefined "administrative action." As a lawyer myself I followed the age-old adage, "never represent yourself." However, I know if I was going to find someone to represent me I wanted them to be proficient. That is exactly what I got with Matthew. Additionally, I needed someone who could work fast. The Army in all of its excellence decided to do the Microsoft 365 transition; however, traditional guardsmen were last in line to get the upgrade. Once I finally got my new email account, I learned that I was already 2 weeks late in turning in my rebuttal to the SSRB board. I was able to reach out and get a 2-week extension; when the original process was meant to be a month. I called Matthew and let him know my dilemma and he immediately went to work. I produced to him all the information I had. He made a few out-of-the-box suggestions that were specific to my case and we were able to submit the rebuttal with plenty of time to spare. Not only was Matthew effective and efficient, but his price was also very fair. After about 9 months of waiting, I finally received an email letting me know that my promotion was sustained and my flag was lifted. I will tell anyone who will listen that if you are in this type of predicament, do not try to handle it by yourself. I'm an attorney and the procedural rules of the game are so convoluted that you could find yourself making the smallest misstep that could cost you years of time or possibly your career. You should definitely hire Matthew to help you navigate this process. With very few people even knowing how this process works, Matthew in contrast has a proven track record of success.
