Since 1995, Chris Connelly has been certified as a Specialist in State Criminal Law by the North Carolina State Bar. Of the thousands of lawyers in the Mecklenburg County Bar, only a handful have received this distinguished certification.  First licensed to practice law in 1987, he has represented thousands of clients in felony and misdemeanor cases - as well as traffic matters - in the Federal and State Courts.

Chris and his wife live downtown in their adopted city of Charlotte.

Chris enjoys travel, Tai Chi and trail riding on his gaited Tennessee Walking Horse named Dustye. Dustye is a sweet tempered, playful, noble-hearted buckskin who loves to give rides to kids. 

Rounding out the family is the office mascot and part time employee Murraye Connelly, a Labradoodle who is quite sure in his own mind that he is a highly evolved human being. He is doted upon by staff and clients alike, stealing their hearts with his sweet disposition.

Thankful For A Great Job!
Mr. Connelly was extremely professional, highly responsive and overall a real pleasure to work with. I had a very serious DWI that if proven guilty could have had major negative implications. Mr. Connelly came to court beyond well-prepared. Due to his detailed legwork, I was ultimately proven not guilty. I would recommend Mr. Connelly to anyone looking for a hard-working and thorough defense. He is clearly an A-player in every way.!

Competent and goes above and beyond without being asked!
Phenomenal experience with Chris. He not only handled my issue without any hiccups or delays, but even went out of his way to improve the quality of his services without even being asked. Handled an expungement that I hired him for and on his own got additional items expunged from years prior without me even asking or any additional fee, he just simply did it bc its the right thing to do when you represent someone. You simply do not see that from many attorneys these days. Thank you, I would highly recommend to anyone who needs an attorney that wont just do the bare minimum you hire them for!

A Very Professional Lawyer
Mr. Christopher Connelly has an important law practice in North Carolina. He has represented my son and has done a very good job. He was always reachable by phone and kept us updated with pertinent information. Mr. Connelly was highly referred to my son by a previous client. During the COVID-19 era, the courts were not completely open and Mr Connelly provided what we needed during this difficult time. The outcome of my son’s legal issue ended in reduced charges and no incarceration. If you unfortunately find yourself in need of a lawyer, I highly recommend Mr. Connelly.

DMV issue
Mr. Connellly was very helpful in addressing a license suspension. Eventually he had to contact the Attorney General's office to get the DMV to recognize my application for a hearing. The hearing went very smoothly due to Mr. Connelly's skill and knowledge.

Great strategy
With drug trafficking and firearms threatening my future, I went to Mr Connelly. I was skeptical because I had to put my trust and freedom in the hands of a man I just met. After fighting this case over a year I realized that Mr. Connelly was worth trusting.. Trust his strategy because it will pay off in the end! I went from looking at 3-5 years to probation. I can’t complain. Thanks!

Helped me with my case quickly and diligently
When I initially contacted Christopher with my case he assured me that he would be able to resolve my dispute in order to obtain my conceal carry permit. From the time I started working with Christopher Connelly he was always responded to my emails quickly and professionally and got my situation resolved within a matter of months all without even having to go to court. I would highly recommend using him and I will in the future if the need ever arises.
