About Mark

MARK FOSTER IS AN EXPERIENCED & RESPECTED CRIMINAL DEFENSE LAWYER WHO FOCUSES ON FELONY DEFENSE.

I have been practicing federal and state criminal defense in Charlotte for over 20 years. Since 2010, I have been a State Bar Board Certified Specialist in State and Federal Criminal Law. Since 2012, I have been selected each year as a North Carolina Super Lawyer and have received the highest peer rating (AV preeminent) from Martindale-Hubbell. I have handled every type of criminal case and have always striven to obtain the best possible results for my clients. Unlike many criminal defense lawyers, I do not run a high volume practice where the client is expected to quickly plead guilty and move on. Instead, I studiously look for weaknesses in the prosecution's case with an eye towards winning the case in front of a jury. I am not afraid to try a case, having tried over 130 jury trials during my legal career. On the other hand, if the case appears to be one which will likely result in a guilty verdict, I use the weaknesses in the prosecution's case and the positive aspects of my client's background to try to negotiate a better plea bargain than would otherwise be offered.

Attorney for criminal case
Hired Mark Foster to represent my teenage son in a criminal case. We live in another state and he came highly recommended from an attorney friend where we live. He was very fair in his rates. He ALWAYS responded to my questions and inquiries on the case and we were very pleased with how he worked with and represented our son. I would definitely recommend him.

Thank You Mark Foster!
I would recommend Mark Foster to anyone who is hoping to get the best possible resolution to a pending criminal charge. Throughout the process of representing me, he was thoughtful, professional, and highly responsive to my many questions and concerns. He built my trust and confidence without sugar-coating the situation. He was straightforward about my options, including positive as well as potentially negative outcomes. He was also sensitive to the professional and reputational damage that can be caused by a criminal conviction. Throughout the process, I knew Mark was looking out for my best interests, and he was able to draw on his deep experience in successfully navigating the complex court system and legal process. The legal charge against me could have been permanently devastating. Thanks to Mark, I've been able to move forward with minimal damage, and my personal life and professional career are back on track.

Outstanding Attorney
Mark Foster is one of the best, if not the best, criminal defense attorney I have had the privilege to work with. I have observed first hand his zeal, dedication, and commitment to each and every client. He is the ONLY lawyer I know who has obtain 3 recent NOT GUILTY jury verdicts in Federal jury trials. Yes THREE NOT GUILTY VERDICTS. His commitment to hard work is unmatched. He has a vast amount of skill, knowledge, and experience in both State and Federal Courts. I unhesitatingly recommend Mark for any type of criminal case.

Easy to talk to, Easy to trust
Mr. Foster actually listened to my suggestions on how I wanted to proceed with my case. He also did not judge me for my charges. I was treated with respect and I felt comfortable in placing my trust in both himself and other lawyers in his firm. I Never had trouble in getting in touch with him or his assistant.

Mark Foster is the attorney you want fighting for you!
The thought of criminal charges and their ramifications on my personal and professional life was a frightening prospect. However, my experience with Mark Foster and the friendly professionals at the offices of Rawls, Scheer, Foster and Mingo was outstanding. I was immediately reassured by Mr. Foster's calm demeanor and his knowledge of the law. He sat down with me and took the time necessary to learn what he needed to know and he provided me with realistic expectations. He was confident in his ability to give me the best representation possible and he lived up to his word. He made himself available by phone and email throughout the process and, above all, he exceeded my expectations with a full dismissal of the charges. It is difficult to decide where to turn for legal help during such a stressful time but you can be sure you are in good hands with Mr. Foster and the rest of the team at RSFM. I highly recommend their services!
