I am a non custodial parent that has fought hard to get court ordered visitation with my children (thanks to Attorney Rodgers). Recently I went through an issue where although I have court ordered visitation my ex wife threatened to disregard the court order. She came up with excuses and reasons why ...the visitation could not happen for the upcoming week. The judge immediately signed the motion and granted us a court hearing a few days after the exchange for visitation should have taken place. We went to court a few days later and the judge was not happy that the exchange of the children did not take place. The judge picked up on the lies that were being told by my ex wife. She was held in contempt of court for lying and placed in handcuffs and was on the verge of going to jail. The judge ordered the children to be brought to court and my ex wife would not be released until they got there. The children were finally brought to court by the mother of my ex wife and I was allowed to leave and enjoy the rest of the week of visitation with my children. I am not telling this story to be spiteful against my ex wife. I am telling this story to show the importance of having a good attorney representing you. The quick thinking and planning by Ms. Rodgers allowed me to enjoy the precious time that I have with my children. If it wasn't for her coming up with a game plan and quickly filing the paperwork the visitation would not have taken place and I would have missed out on valuable time with my children.
