How many bankruptcy attorneys do you know who would recommend AGAINST filing for bankruptcy if it's not in your best interests? Because that's exactly what Damon Duncan did. He laid out all of my options, explained them in detail in a way I had no trouble understanding, then he went through and c...learly explained why he would or would not recommend each one. Ultimately, his recommendation was a course of action that didn't involve bankruptcy, and therefore made him no money. But he recommended what he thought would be best for me anyway. In addition to all that, his demeanor was more than I ever could have hoped for. I have some pretty significant social anxiety issues, especially in situations like meeting with a lawyer, but not once did it even cross my mind to feel judged, or like a failure (both of which are feelings that come far too easily for me). He was laid-back, personable, and so very kind. I am immensely grateful to him for that, and if I ever end up having to file for bankruptcy in the future, I already know exactly where I'll go!! :)

I am truly thankful for Damon and his staff. Filing bankruptcy was a very hard decision. There are so many emotions involved and Damon made this process much easier with his compassion and knowledge. He promptly returned all calls and e-mails. He never made me feel embarrassed with the many quest...ions I had. Melissa, Damon and Jordan were all great. My husband and I were in a place that we did not like, mostly due to divorce and loss of employment. Damon and Melissa informed us of our options, kept in touch with us and were very comforting. After we chose to file, Jordan was very efficient in reviewing t...he paperwork and making sure we had what we needed. During the creditors meeting, Damon was the ONLY lawyer that pulled his clients BEFORE the trustees and it really helped to ease the embarassment of having your name called twice. We felt very prepared and they made it easy. We would recommend them to all!

For two years my wife and I basically lived to work, and worked to pay our bills (on time). Our entire monthly earnings were literally distributed among or creditors all the way down to our last $80...So my family of 5 "lived" off of $80 a month. Neither of us knew of a better way than to just pay a...s agreed (the monthly minimums I’ll add) until the balances finally disappeared. That’s what everybody else does, so we figured ourselves to be no different. The problem with that plan was with occasionally having to use a credit card for gas or food the balances never would decrease. Some would even grant more credit, thus compounding our problem and creating the illusion that things were okay, and in the short-term they were. Even the Consumer Credit Counseling Agency encouraged us to “keep current..” adding there was “nothing (they) could do at this point..” To our credit, I’ll say that we prided ourselves on paying all of our bills on time and we did so, with exception to an old auto loan my wife once had. However, with just $80 to spare monthly there was no room for something as small as a flat tire. In the past, we’d talked amongst each other about bankruptcy but never gave it a serious look because of the fear that our names would appear on some listing or billboard and we’d lose all we have. So when a friendly sheriff appeared at our door with a civil summons in July 2011 for a car that was repossessed in November of 2010 we knew we had to do something more extreme. We simply could not afford to by sued! At that point we just needed a lawyer to get an idea for the route we should take. We had this repossession coming back to bite us and a lot of credit at its limit. Looking for solutions we Googled “N.C. Lawyers” and for whatever reasons was drawn by the Duncan Law video tutorials we eventually found ourselves watching. Within an hour we was sitting in Damon’s office discussing options to remedy our financial strain and the threat of being sued. That entire event with all of its drama, suspense, and feelings of hopelessness took place merely 2 months ago. Following our initial consultation with Duncan Law my wife and I spent roughly three weeks gathering all the required information for them to do their job…and shortly after submitting that information our outlook on bankruptcy changed considerably. I’ll take it from here…it’s all over..!” We are real people that had a real dilemma and the Duncan Law team really came through for us! I’d recommend this group to anyone facing a financial hardship. Damon and Melissa were fantastic both personally and professionally. They are very experienced and prepared to assist in the bankruptcy process. We were provided with (both printed and internet access) to information such as; what to expect throughout the process, worksheets to complete to enable the... successful solution of our dilemma, and very sincere access to them for answers to our concerns and questions. The telephone was answered immediately during the business day (I did not try other hours) and email was returned the same day and generally within the hour. Personally, they made my wife and I very comfortable in what was a very embarrassing situation to us. The proof of the quality and competence of their talents was during the meeting of creditors; other lawyer’s clients had their case postponed for lack of information; had to provide clarity of information; and some had the proposed solution modified.
