Very impressive results, background and reputation. Our family consulted with three different attorneys and found Mr. Smith's firm to be the most experienced and competent. His in-depth knowledge of the law, defense work, and court proceedings, along with his ability to relate to his clients is truly amazing. Mr. Smith is caring, takes time to educate, explains next-steps, and prepares his clients in every aspect. His assistants Jackie & Zack are also very professional. I understand he also teaches a Law/Defense Course in Virginia. There is no substitute for his years of experience and professionalism. His fee was fair and very competitive. Hiring him was one of the best decisions we have ever made in our lives.

Hiring Mr. Smith was a mistake. I was charged with filing a false police report pertaining to a domestic dispute with my brother. During the first session, he was emphatic about how the police were probably lying, and he seemed to have a strategy in place. As the case proceeded, he started to assign blame to me; he accused me of changing my story, and showed a lack of empathy (and none of the facts changed). It's as if after the retainer, his zeal for the case just disappeared over night.

He was late to court, and he struck a poor plea bargain with prosecutors. The charge was amended to another Class 1 misdemeanor, and I got community service, and an arrest record that now cannot be expunged. At the day of trial, he said he thought he could win the case, but then qualified that by saying that "they really don't like you." He also acted as if the case didn't matter at all to him--he told me "it is your life." I began questioning whether he was on my side, or their side. Of course, instilling that type of fear in me compelled me to just reach a plea agreement, when in hindsight, this case should have gone to trial.

And the prosecution had no evidence, and I have a spotless criminal record. Hire a lawyer that is willing to fight for you if you think the charges are without merit. There is too much at stake to hire someone that just wants to scare you into reaching a plea agreement with a zealous county prosecutor.

  • Great Lawyer with over 30 years of experience! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Ron is a great lawyer, he isn't cheap. but it's like what they say, you get what you paid for. If you hire him, listen to everything tells you and follow his instructions.

  • Good lawyer but scares you a lot. I give him 3.5/5 .

Pros - Experienced lawyer, knows what he is doing, influential, knows prosecutors well.

Cons - Does not listen to you, Never gives a chance to talk, scares you a loooootttttttt.

Bottom line - I recommend him. But he is not a smooth talker. Scares you a lot as if he is preparing you for the worse so that you won't be surprised if you won't get the results you wanted.
I have spoken to couple other lawyers and from what they said Mr.Smith has very good reputation. Both of them said that I should stick with him.
If you hire him, just do what he asks you to do.
