Worst real accurate experience

I had a reckless driving ticket and I got the necessary calibration test and 4 hour class done, as recommended by the lawyer. The calibration test proved in my favor. In context, my driving and criminal record was clean, so was my first offense after 14 years+ of driving. Court date comes, he talks t...o the prosecutor before my hearing, and comes to me with an offer of dropping the reckless portion but keeps the speed still at 89 in a 55. I wasn't thrilled about the offer, so I began to ask questions because I didn't feel comfortable with the offer. It shocked me how bothered and annoyed he sounded, just because I didn't take the offer right away, and remember this is my first "misdemeanor" so I'm a little shaken up during this whole process. He aggressively kept reemphasizing how this was a solid deal. After his "pressure," I took the first offer because I just wanted to avoid any future confrontation with him, if I decided to keep this case going. I was also super disappointed how unempathetic he was. Conclusion is, what's the point in hiring a lawyer if you can get the same outcome by going in yourself? My circumstances of the ticket + my background was highly favorable. After talking with friends, families and colleagues down the road, he did nothing but take my fee. He didn't even want to try for a better deal or result, even if that meant to continue the case. I would have gladly paid more, for better results but we never he got around to talk about that. I will never use him or Simms Showers LLP again.

A Big Thanks!! Best Attorney!!

Mr Ben was outstanding! Couldn't ask for more in a lawyer. He represented me for a first time petit larceny and felony for burglary tools. I told him I am innocent. He listened and researched and got both my charges dropped. He is very patient to listen the details of the case and responsive to all m...y questions. Very professional, bold and compassionate too. Other than the flat fee, there were no additional charges!

I HIGHLY recommend him without ANY hesitation!!

Never in my wildest thoughts did I expect to be in need of a defense attorney, but as it happened, I found myself in need of one. After exhaustive research and almost a dozen consultations with different attorneys/firms, I retained the firm Simms Showers (and William “Ben” Mann) to represent me. I... found Ben to be very patient, approachable and detail oriented. He impressed me with his ability to understand my case in great detail - not just the facts of the case - but also the many subtle nuances (which was often missed by previous attorneys). He identified the weak areas of our case and built a strong defense against them, simultaneously, he was great at identifying holes in the opposition's case and exploiting them very effectively. From the very beginning Ben was prompt and attentive in all our communications. He guided me through every step of the process which helped alleviate my anxiety. He examined and explored EVERY angle/aspect of the case to ensure there are no surprises. I call him Mr. Never-Misses-Anything. Another area of strength that I want to highlight… Ben was EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD at preparing me for trial day and going over my testimony. He conducted several rounds of mock cross-examinations which went a long way to help me handle the strenuous interrogation by the opposing attorney. Needless to say, we destroyed the opposition’s case and received a verdict in our favor. Part-2 I was so pleased with Ben's work on my first case that I transferred another case of mine from my previous attorney over to him. Once again, Ben's knowledge, experience and skill in the court room were invaluable. Given the last minute change of attorney, Ben didn’t have a lot of lead time to prepare for the case. Despite that, he did a great job getting up to speed very quickly without missing a single relevant detail. He even managed to dig up another almost identical case – from the SAME COURT – with a ruling in our favor, to use as a precedent for our case. That went a long way to winning our case. Most importantly for me, Ben was EXCELLENT in the courtroom. He was quick on his feet, he never wavered in any situation nor backed down against any obstacle. I recall one situation during the trial when the judge sustained an objection from the opposing attorney which prevented us from introducing a critical piece of evidence which was central to our case. At that time, I thought, my case was all but lost, but Ben never gave up or backed down. Despite being shot down repeatedly and having multiple objections sustained against him, Ben stood up to the judge and persevered until he managed to force the judge to reverse her stand and allow us to present the evidence. Needless to say, once again, Ben destroyed the opposing counsel's case and the verdict was completely in our favor. I can confidently say that if I ever need an attorney, Ben is the one I will hire. I highly recommend him without hesitation.

Highly recommend!

Ben is one of the most caring and knowledgeable lawyers that I have ever met. I met him by chance while I was leaving the courtroom after receiving the harshet punishment for failing to appear in court ON TIME for a VERY minor traffic ticket. I was told because I came late, the judge had already ...found me guilty and the only thing I could do now is pay the maximum fines + lose points on my license. The judge and the officer both refused to give me a chance to even speak and explain myself and I was basically kicked out of the courtroom. Luckily for me, I came across 3 lawyers that were standing outside the courtroom, I asked them if there is anything I could do at this point. The other lawyers said "just wait until the judge hears ALL 200 cases before you and try to convince him to give you a continuum" (meaning I would have to wait another 2 hours and the judge may still refuse to hear me out) that did not seem like the best advice for me. On the other hand, Ben suggested a few promising options and he seemed to genuinely care about helping me. By random chance, the client he was with had a trial with the same officer that I was supposed to see. Ben told me to wait a few minutes and that he will be right back (I did not know what I was waiting for exactly but Ben seemed very confident and trustworthy and I made the right choice by waiting) When he finally came back, he found me within a courtroom FULL of people to let me know that he talked to the officer about my case and that the officer decided to lower my punishment to just having to pay court fines and I would not lose any points. When I first approached Ben, it was only to ask for advice because I was helpless. but to my surprise, Ben actually went out of his way to help me and actually ended up acheiving the best results possible in my situation. He VOLUNTARILY chose to help me because he saw how distressed and helpless I was. From the very brief time I spent with Ben I can definetly see that he is a very confident and take charge lawyer and that automatically made me trust him. Not only that, but he is a genuinely caring person who is deeply concerned about his clients and will do anything to help. I went from leaving the courtroom in tears to leaving with a smile on my face because someone cared enough to help me and actually achieved in doing so. I cannot recommend a better lawyer to go with!!
