Foreclosure sale scheduled? Wages already being garnished? I stop both. Chapter 7, 13, and 11 in DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia for over 20 years. Free consultation: (202) 448-5136.

Financial hardship happens to people who did everything right. A job loss, a medical event, a business that did not make it. For over 20 years, I've handled bankruptcy, foreclosure defense, and debt defense for individuals, families, and business owners across DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia.

Chapter 11 gives a struggling business room to reorganize while it keeps operating. Creditor pressure stops, leases and contracts get restructured, and the doors stay open. Subchapter V made this realistic for small businesses that could never have afforded a traditional Chapter 11. I handle both, f

Chapter 13 stops a foreclosure sale and lets you cure missed mortgage payments over three to five years. You keep the house, you keep the car, and you pay what your budget actually supports. If your sale date is close, call before it, not after. Filing is what stops the auction.

Chapter 7 eliminates credit cards, medical bills, and personal loans completely and permanently. Most cases run about four months from filing to discharge. I run the means test with you before you spend a dollar, so you know where you stand going in. Filed in DC, Greenbelt, and Alexandria.

Not everyone needs to file. If a creditor or a debt buyer has sued you, that case can often be beaten on the evidence or settled for a fraction of the claim. I defend debt collection lawsuits and negotiate settlements in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Before judgment, before garnishment, before your ac

A foreclosure notice is a deadline, not a death sentence. I stop foreclosure sales in DC, Montgomery and Prince George's Counties, Fairfax, and Alexandria. Loan modification, reinstatement, Chapter 13, or a defense to the sale itself. Call before the sale date. Every day you wait narrows your option

Cary, thank you. Reviews like this make the work worth it! Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 both have their traps, and every case turns on the details. I'm glad to be useful. If anyone you know is facing debt problems, send them my way. I'll give them straight answers, same as I gave you.

Top Bankruptcy Lawyer

A few years ago a series of business setbacks put me in a precarious personal financial situation, as a result of which I had no option left but to seek relief through the Chapter 7 route. I then made what I believe was one of the best decisions of my professional life, which was to select Brian Lee ...as the attorney to advise and guide me in the process, and handle all legal and administrative aspects of it. As is customary, my case was heard by the relevant DC Bankruptcy Court along many other somewhat similar cases. Sitting through some of these other hearings I came quickly to the conclusion that my case was the best prepared one among all of them. I was swiftly granted a full and unencumbered discharge by the court, pursuant to which I was able to resume my professional and personal life. This outcome was mainly due to Brian’s professional competence and personal help all through the period of our professional association. At all times his mastery of the legal process coupled with his most congenial approach made me feel secure that I had a most competent “friend in the court”. I can recommend Brian, both the professional attorney and the human being, without any reservation to anybody facing a similar situation to the one I did.

Thank you, Ramzi. What you noticed in those other courtrooms—preparation—is where the difference gets made. A Chapter 7 that looks simple on the surface is built on the work that happens before you ever walk into court: clean schedules, answers that hold up, a means test that's airtight. The cases that move fastest are the ones that walk in fully prepared. Getting each client a clean discharge so they can move forward with their lives is what I'm all about. Glad I could help you!

GREAT 7 FRIEDNLY

Brian was great. He was easy to work with, understood the circumstances and did what was necessary to achieve the desired goal. Was present every step of the way. I do not plan in getting into the same situation again, but if I did, Brian is who I would hire. On top of it all, he is just a nice guy.

Thanks for your review, Tom, it was a pleasure working with you! My goal is always to make sure clients understand their options, feel supported, and know that they have someone in their corner every step of the way. I appreciate your trust and confidence. While I certainly hope you never find yourself in a similar situation again, I'm grateful to know that you would choose me if you did!
