I aggressively defend service members in the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard worldwide and have been involved in some of the most notable American courts-martial and military cases. I fight for you in military trials throughout the United States, Europe, the Pacific, Africa and the Middle East.
I have practiced as a prosecutor, as a Division Chief of Military Justice, as a military defense attorney and then I was handpicked to train and advise Army defense lawyers worldwide for the U.S. Army Defense Counsel Assistance Program. During my time on active duty, I tried or consulted on the most well-known cases in military, some with worldwide recognition. I have defended people accused of premeditated murder, rape, child rape, espionage, sexual assault, fraud, aggravated assault and other serious crimes, often receiving full acquittals or an acquittal on all of the serious charges. I have taught CLE (Continuing Legal Education) classes on courtroom skills to hundreds of lawyers across the United States and even in Germany and South Korea. My primary hobbies are running marathons and ultra marathons, playing and watching football and basketball, and reading up on the latest developments in criminal law and trial advocacy.

Mr. Nathan Freeburg went above and beyond
Mr. Nathan Freeburg fought and won a war for me. A war where my life was on the line. The week of trial was extremely long but he never seemed like he was tired. The prosecution were getting whittled down each and every day and by the end of it they were clearly exhausted. Of note, at the very end of...

Peace of Mind
When one is accused of a UCMJ violation, your whole world crumbles. Those who you thought were your friends desert you. I found Nathan after I fired an attorney and I'm so glad i did. He was always available for me which is amazing since he's very busy but always found time to contact me. Sometim...
"Nathan is one of the best military defense attorneys in the United States. I routinely call Nathan with complex questions and his knowledge is second to none. I unequivocally endorse this attorney. If I needed a lawyer, I would call Nathan."
"I endorse this lawyer because I have worked with him as co-counsel or as counsel in "conflict" cases where we are representing separate clients. I also have contacts in the "network" who know of him. Dedicated, hard-charging work ethic, creative, and successful."
"Nathan is an outstanding and professional litigator. If there was an award for the most fierce defense attorney, Nathan would have earned it. He is a fighter through and through."
"I've worked with Nathan on cases and I've referred potential clients to him. In both scenarios he has proved to be an excellent attorney who provided astute insight and judgment to the military justice system and his client. Each client is handled with time and attention. I look forward to working with him again and I recommend his work to anyone looking for an outstanding military justice attorney."
