I highly recommend KCNF!

I’ve turned to them on a few occasions for legal counsel on an employment issue and each time the lawyers at the firm were very responsive and amazingly helpful. They worked with me to find the right approach to the issue and provided solid legal counsel. They had my back and fought for my rights. Wh...en I need an employment attorney, I will always call KCNF.

Not for clearance related matters

I hired this attorney to work on an interrogatory and response to SOR on my firm's recommendation that Elizabeth Newman was the lawyer. Ms. Newman retired, so her colleague took the case instead. After that one thing after another kept going poorly. I'd receive agreements with someone else's retainer... info incompletely removed, both the interrogatory and SOR failed to pass review, the interim drafts given to me had errors, lapses in logic, and spelling mistakes that I had to put upways of >10 hours a week to fix so we wouldn't respond with nonsensical content. If I brought it up, this lawyer was argumentative and defensive, and she spent time trying to prove herself correct instead of working on my case. She ultimately billed the time she spent defending her poor work quality back to me as well. She didn't know what a written interrogatory was when I first received it, and I found the definition in a book online that she and Ms. Newman supposedly wrote, which means she didn't write that portion. I found her knowledge of clearances and strategies lacking. I've hired a different firm and the difference is night and day in both quality and knowledge. She may be ok as an employment lawyer, but I wouldn't come here for a clearance-related matter.

This is certainly a disappointing review, but I am happy to hear that this client has found a new lawyer, with whom I hope she will have success. My reading of her public feedback is that I should have done a better job communicating with her – about nuts and bolts issues as well as the reasoning behind my recommendations. I am sorry that our early successes got lost in her later discontent with my approach to her case. Although a hearing seemed inevitable because of the facts of her case, we successfully narrowed the issues, first, through our responses to interrogatories and then, through our response to the Statement of Reasons. Those successes, though partial, should improve her chances of a successful outcome at the upcoming hearing. Even so, I am sorry that I was not more successful communicating and resolving conflicts with her over strategy. For example, I should have made more clear that in a security clearance appeal the applicant’s input is an absolute necessity. Success in these cases requires that I work closely with my clients and rely on them for facts and accuracy. And I am sorry that, after it became evident that our communications had irreparably deteriorated, I did not sooner advise her that her interests would be better served by different representation. Ethical considerations prevent me from addressing any of this client’s specific and – to my mind, unfounded – criticisms (except for her point about the retainer agreement; unfortunately, there was an error which required correction) . Nevertheless, I am glad that she has found a new lawyer with whom she can work and wish her every success.

The Best Employment Attorney You Can Hire

I cannot say enough positive things about Attorney Fitch. If you have a work issue and you want a hardworking, dependable, knowledgeable, and responsive Attorney, call Attorney Fitch. Even though my case continued for over a year, Attorney Fitch was able to recall dates and specific situations that... I had forgotten. If I emailed her with a question or concern, she was extremely responsive and always answered my question within a few hours if not sooner. Attorney Fitch was extremely organized and supportive throughout my situation and I honestly would have had a difficult time getting through the process if it had not been for Attorney Fitch. I have and will continue to recommend her to friends and colleagues. Attorney Fitch is extremely knowledgeable with cases regarding the federal government and whistleblower retaliation as well.

Elaine Fitch is a Force to Reckon With

Ms. Fitch picked up my case a year into my efforts as my original attorney made an unexpected (for me) career move. Ms. Fitch was on top of the very complicated situation quickly and picked up on issues I was not even aware were issues. A year later, I notice her quick recall of minute details of m...y case and persistence. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience that have been very helpful. (and it saves me money that she is so smart - not much time spent researching!!) Ms. Fitch knows the nuances of working with the federal government and has been able to work around the hurdles employed to deter my persistence in seeking justice. Although I am sure that Ms. Fitch is brilliant in other areas, I have seen her tight work on EEO issues relating to age, gender, reprisal, disabilities, reasonable accommodation, and constructive discharge. Ms. Fitch's partners compliment her areas of expertise and skills. Ms. Fitch keeps me informed in what is going on. She has provided me with common sense based guidance and encouraged me during low points such as when I read affidavits filled with lies by high profile leaders in our government. Ms. Fitch is professional, brilliant and very easy to work with. However, I would not want to be going up against her in a case!
