Inspires confidence
I contacted Sue through the recommendations had read online. We set up a time for me to talk t her about the issues I was experiencing at work that were of great concern to me. That first call reassured me that Sue was exactly the right attorney to guide me through the issues I was concerned and worried about, Over a period of about a year, I was able to call her and discuss various issues and she was great at talking me off "the ledge" . She provided pragmatic advice that allowed me to view my work issues in a way that empowered me. On top of all of this, Sue has a great sense of humor that helped to diffuse my anxiety. I would recommend Sue without any reservations.

Excellent, knowledgeable, and hardworking
Sue Huhta did an outstanding job, from start to finish. She worked tirelessly on my case, and demonstrated extraordinary knowledge of the arcane details of labor law as it relates to university promotion and tenure cases. She was such an upbeat, pleasant person to deal with, and so honest and realistic. I felt like she was really in my corner!

Caught Between Your Boss and Staff
I was having problems at work. Specifically, I was trying to manage challenging staff without support from my boss. I asked a colleague, who had experienced a similar situation, what to do. The colleague told me I needed someone on my side and to contact an attorney that specialized in employment law. Based on Ms. Huhta's credentials, I selected her as my attorney. What a wise choice, I have near regretted my decision. Ms. Huhta is not only experienced, but compassionate. She says what she means and does what she says. Ms. Huhta is confident, yet not arrogant. She is straight-forward and direct, yet tactful. When we met, Ms. Huhta asked me questions about the situation to clarify the facts. She analyzed the situation quickly and provided various options including potential consequences. Her wise counsel calmed me in the midst of a storm, and strengthened me. My situation ended with a favorable outcome thanks to Ms. Huhta's advice. If you are in a similar situation, I recommend highly Ms. Huhta for her expertise in employment law. You could not select anyone better.

Senior non profit organization executive
From initial consultation to settlement Sue Huhta was direct, fair and a realist. Most importantly she effectively and objectively counseled me on my employment matter, what my legal options were and clearly stated her approach to achieve the desired results. Once all the facts were on the table about my employment situation, lack of promotion and subsequent actions by management she aptly noted the violations to laws and sought remedy. Most importantly Sue was actively in involved beginning to end. There was no hand off. She and her partner were equally knowledgeable and participatory. The outcome was satisfactory and timely. Because of my position in the organization I was aware of potential approaches by my former employer. She kindly and directly informed me "that is nice to know but here is the legal issue. And do I want to address it." What I admired the most Sue took the time to thoroughly understand my issue before committing to represent me. I believe that is one of the reasons she is so successful as an advocate for senior executives seeking remedy in employment and compensation matters.

First rate employment lawyer
When I was treated very badly by the law firm I was working at, I contacted Sue as a result of her stellar online reviews and was not disappointed. Sue was very kind and sympathetic during our initial hour long telephone conversation. It was also clear from that conversation that Sue brings a wealth of experience to the table and I knew immediately that having Sue by my side would increase the chances of reaching a satisfactory settlement with my employer. I had thought that the case would be resolved fairly quickly, but as it turned out, my employer decided to play hardball. Given that turn of events, I can't think of anyone I would rather have had fighting them on my behalf. After each communication from the other side, Sue thinks strategically about what our next move should be. Sue also thinks creatively - we had some fairly complex issues to navigate that would have intimidated a lesser lawyer; Sue took them in her stride. Once she has decided on her recommended approach, Sue is extremely adept at explaining it. And she doesn't just tell you what you want to hear. She makes sure that she gives her best advice, which I greatly appreciated. Sue has a confident but warm manner and I had total faith in her judgment. That faith paid off when she negotiated a settlement that was far in excess of what I was expecting, particularly given that the firm in question had decided to dig their heels in. Overall, Sue is in absolute pleasure to work with. She is easy to build a rapport with and is clearly at the top of her game professionally. I would add that, as a lawyer myself, I learnt a lot about how to handle clients just by observing the way in which Sue interacted with me. If I ever have an issue again with an employer, Sue would be the first person I would call, and my recommendation to anyone out there who is in the same boat is that you should do so too.

Amazing Attorney
Susan Huhta is an amazing person and attorney! As my attorney, she provided emotional support, stayed in constant contact with me to keep me informed of everything that was going on and became a good friend. She was accessible anytime or day to address problems that I was experiencing on the job during this legal process. My experience during this long and stressful process was less painful due to the professionalism and bedside manner of Ms. Huhta. She took the fear away from seeking legal counsel when you think you are being discriminated against. I am now a strong advocate of seeking legal advice when unfairness occurs in the workplace because of my experience with Ms. Huhta. Ms. Huhta and her associates provided legal guidance that resulted in a fair settlement.

"Top Notch"
I hired Susan Huhta in 2015 to help me with a discrimination/retaliation employment case. She and her partner Rick Salzman were phenomenal. Susan was so professional with everything she touched. She helped to steer my decisions about my case in ways that were very beneficial to me even when I was not clear on exactly what path to take. She is so kind, respectful, direct, and has a great sense of humor, not to mention a brilliant mind. She and her partner were able to take a very difficult discrimination employment case and untangle the web. After all of the hard work, prevailing was the only option left on the table. If someone wants to hire the best attorney to get the best results, Susan Huhta should be at the top of your list!

Sue Huhta = Incredible Partner!!!
Yes, you need her! When faced with an incredibly unjust workplace situation, it took me a while before I finally acknowledged that I truly needed to seek professional assistance. And even then, I wasn’t 100% sure I wanted to move forward; somehow I was still trying to digest how I got here, wondering what I’d have to invest of my personal time, energy,$ to address/correct these serious issues since my company chose to take no action. Particularly for an ingoing (anxious) novice like me, Sue Huhta was an incredible partner. She helped me to separate emotion from fact and reassured me that justice needed to be pursued. Most importantly, she helped infuse patience and a strategic outlook to the situation vs looking for just the fastest fix (or giving-up entirely)! I really appreciated her authenticity in how we connected - she is empathetic, candid, extremely experienced and kept me optimistic through several times when I really did just want to give-in and move-on with my life. I am SO grateful that she was my partner. I know we did the right thing for the company, its other employees and certainly for my personal situation. So if you are still in the phase of disbelief that you are even having to read these reviews to potentially hire a lawyer....I know how you feel. I would encourage you to just call Sue and start a conversation. I’m sure she’ll give you a feel pretty quickly for whether she’s the best partner for your situation, or not.

A Brilliant Legal Mind...and Amazing Person
I met Susan when I was at a truly low point after a poor employment experience. I hired Susan to represent me in an unfair employment termination case. She was compassionate and nonjudgemental but absolutely relentless in obtaining a fair and equitable resolution to my case. She exuded confidence in what she would be able to accomplish, was forthright and honest on the potential outcome scenarios. Thanks to her time and talent, I had a positive outcome. While I hope I never have to use her services again if I did she would be my first phone call.

Phenomenal, Passionate, Warrior
Susan is a true blessing to the legal profession. She helped me in every aspect of my situation. She provided me with expert counsel, needed advice, and patient coaching from start to finish. Most importantly, she genuinely cared about me as a client and did everything within her ability (going above and beyond) to ensure my success. Susan is also an expert/fair/polished negotiator and is extremely honest and transparent about her fees. Susan worked with me and my family to make what looked impossible possible. I give Susan my very highest recommendation - in every sense - she is a phenomenal, compassionate, warrior! I will consider Susan a true friend for life for what she did for me and my family. Thank you so much!

Sue Huhta is my Hero
I engaged Sue to represent me in an employment dispute and could not have been more pleased and satisfied with her work. She knows this field of law inside and out, but that is true for plenty of employment lawyers. What makes Sue stand out so exceptionally in my view is that she keeps a very clear-eyed and rational view of the client's entire interest: not just the legal issues at play, but also how the matter will impact the client's well-being and ability to move forward. For example, at just the right moments Sue encouraged me to weigh carefully the benefits of settling my case vs. the risks, time it would take, and the ongoing psychic and emotional burdens of continuing to press on in litigation. Because Sue was working on the basis of an hourly fee and NOT on a contingency fee, settling the matter early as opposed to pressing forward clearly would result in less fees for Sue. Nevertheless, there is absolutely no doubt that this factor never entered into the advice and guidance Sue gave me. It was clear to me right from the start that she always had my interest first--and exclusively--in mind. The other quality I admire about Sue and was so grateful for is that she is a fighter in the positive sense. She will not be bullied by the size of a company or organization nor by opposing counsel. She projects confidence and competence, but also can work constructively with opposing counsel to resolve matters. As mentioned above, Sue worked on my matter on an hourly fee basis. Her hourly fee is in line with her position as a partner in a leading employment firm, which could strike potential clients as high. But my experience was that the total of the fees I paid to Sue and her firm represented approximately 8% of the before-tax settlement amount I received from my former employer in this matter. I thought that was very reasonable and I was extremely satisfied. In sum, I highly recommend Sue Huhta and feel incredibly fortunate that she was recommended to me by a friend and that I engaged her to represent me.

employment lawyer i would highly recommend
I retained Susan regarding a wrongful dismissal by a corporation. Susan was enormously strategic, and with her vision into possible outcomes, she developed a well-thought out approach to addressing the pertinent legal questions, Susan was a strong and effective advocate on my behalf. While the industry in question was not her area of expertise, she conducted additional and appropriate research to gain knowledge to help with the overall strategy. As a client, I always felt that Susan had my best interests top of mind; Susan demonstrated that with her strategic thinking, due diligence and availability to the client to discuss various approaches and answer questions.

Absolutely Amazing
Mrs. Huhta assisted me with an employment issue concerning promotion discrimination with my employer. I found her to be a detail oriented professional, with a no nonsense and highly organized style. Not only was she knowledgeable and confident, she cared about my well-being. She was honest and kept me informed thoughout the process. Sue is a great listener and she is always willing to offer options with her advice and possible outcomes. I am pleased with the outcome and I am grateful for her hard work and continued support. Sue literally changed my perspective on life. She is a wonderful and competent attorney but more important, she is a WONDERFUL person that cares about people.

Career Saving Advice
I hired Sue to help with a reasonable medical accommodation that my employer had been dragging out for over a year. I was at a total loss as to how to proceed with them. I didn’t understand the process. I didn’t know what kind of questions they were allowed to ask me or how to answer them. Sue was able to answer all my questions and give me the advice I needed in order to maintain full time employment as well as retain my benefits. My employer wanted to change my work location which would have required a significant detriment to my health. I had already been with the company for nine years and didn’t want to loose my security in my job. I knew I needed help. And Sue was perfect. She was honest and genuine in all correspondence and I felt safer knowing she was on my side. The end result was that I kept my job and am as committed to it now as when I started. Without Sue’s guidance I don’t imagine that I would still be working at my institution. I can not recommend her highly enough. If you’re not sure if you should ask for advice, just do it. You will not regret consulting with or hiring Susan Huhta. I owe her a great deal.

Highly recommended
Approximately four years ago I hired Ms Huhta to represent me in a potential EEOC claim against my employer. My preferred goal was to settle the issue without litigtion. I am also an attorney but I do not have Ms Huhta's knowledge of employment and labor law. Ms Huhta was a sharp and focused negotiator. She was instrumental in keeping me focused on the most important issues. She is a highly skilled attorney and she effectively handled my case. I received a settlement in excess of what I expected.

Outstanding Attorney!
I was referred to Susan Huhta by another attorney who due to a potential conflict of interest could not represent me in a lawsuit brought against me by two former contractors who alleged I had engaged in misconduct in the performance of my job. The other attorney was excellent, but assured me that Susan was outstanding and that she would solve my issue. I contacted Susan Huhta, and in the initial conversation lasting 30 minutes, I knew that she would solve my lawsuit. This was my first experience in this type of situation, and I was significantly concerned about family finances and the damage that this lawsuit could do to my career. Susan listened, asked questions, calmed my fears and explained to me that she would protect me and my family. Susan methodically analyzed, researched historical case law and systematically tore apart the case of the plaintiffs. The judge ruled in my favor with prejudice against the plaintiffs, ending an extremely stressful time period. I gave Susan 5 stars because that is the highest possible rating, in my opinion she deserves the highest possible rating! Susan is extremely intelligent, personable, tough, and every other praise worthy adjective that one could apply to the best attorneys. When you hire Susan, you are never alone and never overmatched in the scary world of litigation. If I ever need the services of an attorney for any purpose my first call will be to Susan Huhta.

Powerful Advocate and Savvy Negotiator
Sue represented me in a wrongful termination case. After helping me to determine a fair and reasonable set of "asks" from my former employer, she proceeded to negotiate with their appointed outside counsel. They had originally indicated that mine was a no-cause termination, but their counsel attempted to deny most of our requests by introducing causes for the termination after the fact. Sue convinced her opponent that this would not be a wise move, and after only a couple of exchanges, we were able to reach a settlement that completely met my needs. Sue is the perfect combination of professional and aggressive, and she artfully makes her case respectfully yet with a strong presence that conveys her ability to hit hard when necessary. I also give her high marks for thoughtfully working with me to parse through my employee experience to identify the most important issues and obtain a realistic set of expectations at the beginning. I should note that I hired her after a prior experience in which she had been opposing counsel to my organization, and I was so impressed with her performance that I wanted her to be my advocate. Sue is tremendously effective, and I recommend her wholeheartedly.

No Regrets - Thank You Sue
I had an EEO case against a quasigovernment agency. Sue was very professional and held my hand throughout the whole process. She took the time to answer all the questions I had, both silly and serious, and made sure I understood everything. Her professionalism and thoroughness is definitely one of her strong points. She does not miss anything and is always on point. She is also very understanding - when I had financial problems due to the case, she worked with me so that I could focus on the case. But what I appreciated the most was that she was always available. Whether she was on vacation, or away on business, she was always available to answer any questions I had, either by email or phone. Going through a lawsuit sucks. But having an intelligent, caring, badass lawyer really helps. Hiring Sue was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I believe that I would not have had the same outcome if I had a different lawyer - I probably would have walked away bitter and angry if I had a different lawyer. If anyone is reading this and debating - dont. Sue is the best, period.
