we hired Ms. Mertz to handle a very simple civil matter. After taking our money and putting up a good front she stopped contacting us in regards to our case. Even worse, she didn't notify us we had lost our case until after the time to appeal had expired, then after reviewing court records we discove...red that she didn't enter pertinent evidence into the record after we paid her to do so. We currently have complaints in with the bar association and are considering a legal malpractice case. I would not recommend hiring the person, if its a criminal case you'll be sitting in jail while she's cashing your check.

I was arrested a couple of months ago for possession of marijuana, escape and trespassing. I thought my life was over being that I'm a college student in the process of earning my bachelors degree. That degree would be worthless with something like this on my background. Anyways, after being bailed o...ut I went to consult with a couple lawyers. All of which made me feel worse about my situation. I feel as though we spent more time discussing payment, instead of the actual case. She told me she would do everything in her power to help me, and that she did. She got me accepted into the ARD program, even with a prior conviction I had a year and a half ago. Andrea Mertz was a very impressive criminal attorney in a felony assault case recently. She did well for the defendant and I was a witness for the state against the defendant. How ever, I must say that she was very aggressive and did all possible angles to have any sentence kept to the lowest possi...ble for her client. I and along with the other witness agree that Andrea Mertz is a great criminal lawyer. She explores all given information and worked very hard for her client.
