A honest and trustworthy helping hand

Before I met Ron, not only was I in pain, but I was always worrying about my case and whether or not people believed me. I felt alone. Then I met Ron. He came to my home for our first meeting. He said after looking at my medical records he wasn’t sure he was going to take my case. When we met, ...he could tell that I was sincere, and that I needed help! After the first few minutes speaking to him, I realized how knowledgeable he was and how helpful he could be. Over the next few months he was always there for me when I had questions or problems regarding my case. His expertise put my mind at ease. Ron treated me like a real person which was important to me. He sent me a book about workers’ compensation that he wrote, which also helped answer some of my questions. When I needed to go to mediations and hearings regarding my case, he came and picked me up at my home and took me to those places. Ron was able to get my case settled after only a few months. He obtained I higher settlement than I thought possible. As a result of my settlement, he was able to obtain educational training for me so that I could re-enter the work force in a different field. Ron took a reasonable fee regarding the settlement which is something I had been concerned about. It was nice knowing I wasn’t taken advantage of with regards to fees. Prior to finding Ron, I felt lost. Ron told me, “if and when I win I would feel a huge burden lifted off of me”. He couldn’t have stated it better. After Ron and I won my workers’ compensation case I was excited. Just knowing the process was done, and that I would soon begin my educational training helped me find my way again. I don’t know where I would be without Ron and his staff, but I am grateful to them for all of the help they provided.

Awesome Worker's Compensation Attorney

Ron was awesome. Before my worker's comp situation, I only needed a lawyer to close on my house (and that attorney was terrible). I had been fighting with my W.C. insurance for over 2 years when i finally broke down and started looking for someone to represent me. Ron was highly recommended and imp...ressed me, right off the bat. I explained to him that, at that time, I had no desire to sue my employer or their insurance, I wasn't out for money, I just wanted fixed. I wanted my life back. Knowing my intentions, and that he would never get a dime from those intentions, he still spent hours and hours patiently explaining the process, my rights, their requirements, etc. He even contacted them when they refused to reimburse me for a $600 medical bill they were responsible for. within 2 weeks, I received the full $600 reimbursement!!! Ron refused to take even a penny of it. Almost a year later (many emails on my behalf, hours on the phone, filed legal papers, etc. all without asking for any payment), the insurance company approached me about settling. I was finally ready to just get the entire mess over with. I asked Ron to represent me (continue to, ha ha). My husband and I sat down with him. He explained our options, gave his recommendations, explained his fees etc. Only afterwards, did he bring out the contract and told us we could take as much time as we needed to make a final decision. By the time everything was over, he made me laugh when all I could do was cry, fought for me when I just couldn't fight anymore for myself, made mediation a really fun and painless experience, and won us a settlement that was $20000 more than he thought he could get including the continued medical treatment for the time period I refused to negotiate with. And, his salary was a set % of my monetary settlement (20%, same for everyone). He was and is worth every penny. I would highly recommend him to anyone else. And, if you're afraid of lawyers (like I was!!!!) , he's your man. just call him and talk to him for a few minutes and you'll know that he is out to help you and others. And isn't just good at his job, he loves his job!

Peace of Mind

You still get to talk to a human being. In todays market of on hold waiting it's nice to know there are still professionals like Ron Calhoon that answer their own phone. I called his office at 7:30pm one evening and he answered the phone. We talked like he had known me a long time. He answered my que...stions and took time with me. The paralegal Anne was great. They show sincere concern for your situation and work quickly to resolve it. He even waived a portion of his fee in the interest of my children. That ladies and gentleman is the kind of integrity that restores faith in the legal community. I could not be more pleased with my experience. Thank You Ron, Annie, AJ, and all the staff there who work behind the scenes to protect the rights of people like myself.

Years of gratitude for Ron

Seventeen years of excellent service. In November of 1995, while employed at Rite Aid distribution center, in Pennsylvania, I was severely injured because Rite Aid violated OSHA policies. After treatment at local hospital, and days into my recovery period, I was asked, "Who is your attorney?" I repli...ed, " I don't have an attorney, I don't need one, I am the injured party." Well, let me tell you, that was not the case. Not only was I injured, with no income, Rite Aid and their insurance carrier tormented me, had private investigators watch my house, and made my life a "living hell." Because I was a member of the Teamsters Union, it was suggested that I contact Ron Calhoon to "handle my case." After walking into Ron Calhoon's office, and relating the events of the accident that changed my life in so many negative ways, I never imagined that Ron and I would be "client/lawyer" for seventeen years!! Needless to say, during that time period, we developed a friendship. Ron and his staff have been available to assist me from day one, and never let me down, in anyway. Ron called me personally, even on weekends, and while he was traveling. He was "always there for me". There are not enough kind words to express my gratitude for all that he has done to assist me with my Workers' Comp. case, and also in my latest battle with the Social Security Administration to receive Disability coverage due to failing health related to the initial injuries. During these years, I have watched Ron open his own practice, watch his children grow, and recently had the privilege to be represented by an outstanding attorney from Ron's firm. A tremendous "Thanks" to A.J. Palutis, for representing me via phone, in my recent court hearing concerning my appeal for Social Security Disability. These two amazing men, are not just lawyers, they are "lawyers with heart." As far as honesty is concerned, I was completely overwhelmed when I received a check from Calhoon and Associates, indicating that I was entitled to a refund of $24.94, due to overpayment. Which proves that there are "honest lawyers" in the world!! "Thanks" to Susanne Calhoon. I still suffer with pain, and disability, but because of Calhoon and Associates, (Ron and A.J.) working diligently to obtain funding and medical care for me, my mental state is much better, and I can focus on my physical problems, and not worry about the legal matters. Ron made arrangements so that my medications are brought to my door via UPS. Injured Workers' Pharmacy is a wonderful company, and they make it a lot easier for people like myself to receive prescriptions. I sincerely hope that no one ever has to go through the pain and suffering that I have because of a work related injury, but if you ever find yourself in need of an attorney, make sure you call Ron Calhoon. During these last seventeen years, I have moved several times, and yet Ron continued to represent me, he never once suggested that I seek "local representation" in the state in which I was living. I will be forever grateful to Ron. With great respect and admiration, a very satisfied client, and friend. Susan Stevenson

Attorney Ron Calhoon

I was hurt and fighting my battle with compensation for about two years when compensation tried to cut me off. A different attorney told me lets wait and see what happens. I called Ron Calhoon because I was frustrated with being beat up and told what I had to do by the insurance company. I was impres...sed because within a few minutes I had a response. I think Ron has his cell phone on and with him 24/7 because it is normal to receive email or text messages from him at any point day or night when something happened with my case. I would like to say that Ron is the best that there is when it comes to battling the insurance company. If I called his office my questions were answered and all calls were always returned. Ron went to the point of giving me his cell and even his home number incase there was an emergency. You don't find an attorney willing to do that, not today. I can remember Ron calling me while he was away with his family for the holidays, returned my call while on a hunting trip, he was always there for me when I needed him. Within a very short time it was not the insurance company telling me what to do it was RON CALHOON telling the insurance company what we were going to do. Ron was a savior, he came into my injury when I was in a state of desperation and showed me that there was hope and stood by my side and fought, battled for me. I remember the feeling I had at our first hearing, the insurance company was ready to eat me up until Ron stood up and demanded the respect that we both deserved. I would certainly rate him as the best attorney You could ever find if You are an injured worker. Ron tackled the insurance company for a settlement, within a short time we were at the table and we settled, had it not been for him that would have never happened. Bills the insurance company said they would not pay were paid. To Ron I was not just a case, I was an injured worker who deserved to be treated fairly and not only did he regain that respect for me, he demanded it. If You are hurt at work You need an attorney, don't let Your employer, your insurance company or anyone tell You different but let me personally tell You that the attorney that You need is Attorney RON CALHOON...... You will not find another attorney willing to go to the length that Ron is willing to go. Ron I Thank You for what You have done for me, my wife and children. I felt I owed You so much for all that You and Your staff did for me. Funny thing I learned it wasn't just me he was fighting for, it was every injured worker that picked up the phone and called him or walked into his office. In closing I would like to thank Ron, Tom & A.J., the office staff, right down to the person who answers the phone who always found the right person or answer i needed. Thank You each and every one of You... Ron Good luck and best wishes. Thank You for being there for me..... Raymond M. Perkowski, Jr. Nanticoke PA / Las Vegas, NV (570)472-5514
