Serious Complaint Regarding Bruce Wilson – Incomplete Trust Work and Negligence

My late husband and I hired Bruce Wilson to prepare a living trust, pour-over will, durable power of attorney, and advanced healthcare directive. We were referred to him by an attorney referral agency. At the time, my husband was battling cancer, and we wanted to ensure that our affairs were in order... before his passing. We paid Mr. Wilson $1,500 in full upfront for these services. He did draft the documents, but they were riddled with numerous errors and inaccuracies. As we attempted to work through the corrections, my husband sadly passed away. Mr. Wilson assured me that once I had time to grieve and settle my husband’s affairs, he would finalize the documents for me. Unfortunately, that follow-through never happened. Despite multiple attempts to contact him—both via phone and email—he frequently failed to respond. On the rare occasions we did speak, he repeatedly promised he would complete the work. He never did. After two years of failed follow-ups, I filed a formal complaint with the California State Bar. They found that Mr. Wilson was negligent in his duties. However, they were unable to assist in recovering the fees I paid. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Bruce Wilson to anyone. He did not honor his word or fulfill his professional obligations. If you do choose to hire him, I strongly advise against paying in advance. If I could give zero stars, I would. Please learn from my experience and proceed with extreme caution.

Knowledgeable

I was referred to Bruce via the Orange County California State Bar Association. I came to Bruce in the late afternoon with a rushed legal matter that had a next day deadline to respond. Bruce not only took the time to listen to my prospective case with me being rushed & emotional , he also na...rrowed down the precise actions we needed to take and laid out a winning game plan.

Rude. Unwilling to listen.

This guy is something else. Called him for help. He didn’t want to hear it. Unwilling to explain the process to right a transaction that had gone sideways. Complete tool.

Terrible,, doesn't listen and no compassion

I was referred to Mr. Wilson through Bar Association. From the very beginning he was very rude, indifferent and unwilling to even bother learning the situation. I would not recommend him for anyone.
