Biography
My practice utilizes my heavy financial background to get your case settled without drama and without having to go to court. I practice out of the North Hills and have developed a paperless highly digital and sophisticated way of managing your case and analyzing your marital estate and your or your spouse's possible needs for alimony. I can show you creative ways to divide your assets with the least amount of damage to each party. I settle the majority of my cases without you ever having to see a courtroom or meet a judge.
Because I am paperless you will receive everything through email providing you with digital files instead of reams of paper. You receieve everything that comes in or goes out with respect to your case.
I utilize sophisitcated software that analyzes various scenarios regarding equitable distribution and alimony. I can project through 50 years in the future what your income and expenses will be based upon the distribution and can show if alimony is necessary and for how long. Other attorneys have to hire outside consultants to do this which doubles your costs.
I am an attorney as well as a CPA (license inactive) and a former member of the American Society of Appraisers having earned the designation of ASA, which is a Senior Member, specializing in business valuation. I am also an adjunct professor at Carlow University teaching Masters of Science in Fraud and Forensice students criminal evidence and utilizing the National Fraud Examiners Handbook. I am also the Vice Chair of the Taxation Committee of the American Bar Association Section of Family Law.
My office is in the North Hills although if you want to meet downtown I can arrange that. I utilize email, text, the telephone, Facetime and Skype so that you don't have to be bothered traveling to my office for meetings. Generally we meet once in the beginnng of the case to ensure that you are comfortable with me.
My background enables me to easily handle complex divorce and support cases, especially where closely-held family businesses are involved. I have been hired by lawyers to be their outside consultant. I have been qualified by the court to testify in court as an expert witness regarding the value of businesses and as to the income of a self-employed person.
I have had over 100 hours of mediation training and have sponsored mediation training sessions with nationally renowned mediattrs. I am also a trained collaborative lawyer. I have mediated for the Allegheny County Custody Program as well as privately in my practice. I was a member of the Western Pennsylvania Mediation Counsel I studied in a two year Gestault Training program for professionals with advanced degrees. I can help you identify what kind of counselng or therapy that might help you.
II was divorced for 15 years and was also a single mother and the sole breadwinner. I can relate to your issues and your life.
I also strenuously protect the business owner from harassment and burdensome requests for documents. I can help you keep that at a minimum.
I have been asked by the American Bar Association to author a book for lawyers describing how to manage a divorce when there is a closely-held business involved. The book should be published in the fall 2016.

Replied last April 09, 2013I have no idea who this is. It doesn't even sound like me because I have never sat quietly at a deposition. Ask my court reporter! Additionally my office is never messy. I am paperless. I have added pics of my office. This review is also suspect because there is no mention of my four dogs. Recently obtained a judgment for non-payment against a certain client. Suspecting this is him and we didn't even conduct a deposition. IF this is a legitimate complaint call me. I would love to resolve this with you in some way. But I truly don't recall any deposition that I wasn't prepared.
