About me

Born in Western Illinois, 2nd in a family of 5 children, father a union organizer and telephone company lineman, mother a homemaker. Lived in a rural area in a home with no running water until 6th grade. Avid reader, began writing poetry in 4th grade, progressed to writing novels in junior high school.   Graduated with a BA in the Teaching of Social Studies, minors in German and Philosphy, from the University of Illinois (U-C Campus) in 1968; taught high school social studies. Mother of 3 children, oldest son deceased.   After moving to Pittsburgh area, attended Duquesne Law School, evening program, while working full time during the day as outside salesperson.  Began practicing law sharing office space with established Bethel Park lawyer, doing real estate closings in exchange for rent.  Self-taught trial lawyer with extensive experience in divorce, support, custody, and estate cases.
