Areas of Practice: 40% Divorce and Separation, 30% child custody, 20% criminal defense, and 10% appeals. This is in general. I am a litigator. I do almost all areas of litigation. I seem to be the kind of person that people either really like or really don't like as you can see from the reviews. I am not a therapist nor a best friend. I will not tell you what you want to hear to make you happy, nor will I keep you case going by telling you what you want to hear as I bill by the hour. I do my best to be honest about your likely outcome and bring about a resolution in a reasonable time. Sometimes people insist on litigating a losing case. I will do it, my clients are the boss, but it is always a good idea to take the legal advice you are paying for. I take my responsibilities very, very seriously. One of them is to tell you the truth about your situation.

A God send

Susan is a good attorney! although I believe in my case she allowed political oversite, to cloud her judgement, at a time when promotions where at the end of the tunnel for many in the Steuben county legal system! And though she did allow, the obvious too be ignored, as a diffinitive means to defend...

Replied last August 13, 2018Owen, since he gave his name, is a FaceBook friend and former client. I assured him there was no politics but he has his own opinion. I never got or sought any political promotion in Steuben County, or any county. I ran for an won public office more than a decade before I became a lawyer and that was long since over before I took his case. In any event, we did well.

Waste of money
She represented me in divorce and her actions showed she was more interested in writing books, being on tv, hosting a radio program and now appearing at a public forum....get your priorities straight if you’re going to help your clients win instead of trying to be famous....

Replied last May 08, 2018I'm a;ready famous....for a lawyer. I have been on national and international television multiple times, and I am asked to do all of these and the local thngs because of the lawyer that I am. What I do not do is talk to clients who seem to need endless attention and bill them for it. I bill for all of the time I spend on a case. If there is nothing for me to say I do not say anything. We have a policy of copying every document that goes in or out of our office to our clients, so they are always informed, and a phone appointment can be had for the asking. Randomly stopping by or calling does not work. Some people need to see a therapist to get through the litigtion emptionally that is not my role in the situation. I do paperwork, go to court and give legal advice. SInce people who post like this never give their name or the details of the case I can't comment further, because I do not know who it is, so I am not sure what the complaint specisfically is.
