Divorce Lawyer

I have sent about 5 friends to Jean for advice and all have retained her. Jean handled my divorce, which had some particularly difficult financial issues to iron out. There were three things that I really liked about the service: 1) Jean's ability to explain the process and strategy took a lot o...f stress out of the event 2) Her deep local experience gives her client an edge in understanding what to expect from the various people, organizations and agencies they will encounter during the process. 3) I was very pleased with Jean's attempts to keep the legal expenses down

Highly recommend

I would recommend Ms. Mahserjian to anyone needing an intelligent, attentive and savvy attorney. Legal issues are complex, especially child support and custody issues. She prepares well, and keeps your interests as the priority.

IRS Issues

I came to Jean with a tax issue and she told me the up front fee of $1500 would cover the process from begining to end. She also gave me an 8 week timeframe for settlement. 10 weeks in she asked me for another retainer to file a 6 page tax document. She did nothing to resolve my case and I was lef...t to file for bankruptcy. I don't believe she is honest or cares at all about her tax business. She promises desperate people results and failed to deliver for me. I think most of her time is spent on divorce law. Do not use this lawyer for tax issues, she will not help you much, if at all.

Chris - As you and I both know, the cost and time quoted to you for the tax work you requested was based on your representation that you were current on all of your tax filings. You were not. While you may have been "desparate", your were not honest with me. Your lack of honesty caused difficulties for your case, including my inabiity to lift a levy imposed by the IRS. That levy could not be lifted because of the unfiled tax return. All of the work that you retained my office for was very promptly and thoroughly completed by my office. Additional work was also done in an attempt to sort out your delinquent tax situation after I learned that your tax filings were not current. Unfortunately, the delays caused by the need to prepare and file your delinquent tax return required that my office undertake additional work to get your levy lifted. You wanted my office to undertake that work for free, even though your misrepresentation of your tax filings caused the problem. I did not agree to undertake more work for you without a charge and you are upset because I would not do that work for free. Your posting her is absolutely dishonest and you acknowledged all of these issues in an email exchange with me.
