Do your research

Do not waste your time or money (a lot of money). You retain the law firm based on a consultation with an attorney. You post a retainer based on the consultation with that attorney. Your case is moving along and you are told that another client has priority over you. You are assigned a different at...torney in the firm. This does not occur in the professional service world. My Judgment of Divorce document signed by the judge does not have my legal name correct on the document. A lawyer who does not know their own client's name only to have the correct name on the retainer invoice. I then have a settlement agreement that is a worthless document as I do not know where my children are living. But for more money (a lot of money) I can make an appointment and maybe find out. Beware before you retain.

Chad, I am truly sorry that you are not satisfied with the representation of my office. However, to clarify - you and I never met. You consulted twice with an associate in my office and then elected to represent yourself. You came back more than a year later and ask to retain our firm. You advised my associate that you had a court conference scheduled and that was why you needed to retain us. In reality, that court conference was a pre-trial conference. You thus retained my office at a time when discovery had to have been completed (it was not) and just before a scheduled trial. And, the associate who you wanted to handle your case was already scheduled for another trial. Had you disclosed the actual status of your case when you came in to retain, you would have known immediately that another attorney would have to be assigned to your trial date. Even though you had already substantially prejudiced your legal rights by representing yourself, your case was actually settled with most of the terms you wanted included in your settlement and another attorney who was equally experienced helped finalize that agreement for you. As for the issue with your name - your ex wife sued you for divorce and listed your name without your middle initial in the court papers. All following court papers contained your name without your middle initial - including the judgment of divorce that was prepared by your ex wife's attorney. Your name is legal without a middle initial. Had you raised that issue with my office, we would have advised you of that. Your agreement is not worthless. It is enforceable and could be enforced if you wanted to do so. You have elected not to seek enforcement.

Great People

Jean represented me during my divorce proceedings for a little over a year until an agreement was made. We were able to come to an agreement and settle out of court and mostly stay out of the court house. I felt represented very well and have the utmost confidence in Jean's legal prowess. Jean and h...er law office were always very easy to contact, I had no trouble getting ahold of someone if I had questions or updates for them. Jean and all her staff were very friendly and welcoming. I had as great an experience as one could have while going through the divorce process. Jean is an excellent lawyer and I would recommend her to anyone needing representation during divorce or custody battles.

THANK YOU

Words cannot describe how helpful and caring this law firm is. I was represented a few years ago in a divorce, and they did an ABSOLUTELY amazing job with a very tough situation. I needed some help with filing for custody of my daughter about 6 months ago and reached out to them and sat with Jean a...nd she guided me through what my options were. The best part was she listened and was the most concerned about my daughter and what was right for her. She set me up with one of her attorney's there that was more familiar with the county I had to file in and after meeting with her (Jennifer) we sat and drew up the paperwork and filed. Throughout this stressful time the entire staff there was so helpful every step of the way and would respond so quickly with advice if needed. In late November I was awarded custody, now that was priceless. You guys are the best and what you have helped me with is priceless to my family and I. Thank you Jean, Jennifer, Alexis and Lindsey.

Jean Mahserjian

I was only allowed to choose 3 attributes for Jean's "Top Attributes" on the LinkedIn website which is a pity because she has so many more. I have been through several Custody, Support Modification and Child Support disputes with Jean and she is excellent. She represents what YOU want yet gives her... honest opinion on positions. She is personable, a good listener but can be very tough when she needs to be on your behalf. Jean's support staff is outstanding, reliable and trustworthy. They all do their homework which leads to great and fair results. Highly recommended.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
