Fratello Law, P.C. serves the legal needs of clients in the areas of Wills, Trusts, Estate Probate, Elder Law, Medicaid and Real Estate. We assists clients with drafting estate planning documents, such as trusts and wills, asset protection, applications for Medicaid, and estate administration if a loved one has passed.
Cheryl Fratello, our Founding Attorney, was born in Newport, RI while her father was serving in the United States Navy. Her family relocated to Long Island in her early years and she spent most of her childhood and young adult life living in Stony Brook. Cheryl found her love of Long Island’s beautiful waters while working the gas docks at the Stony Brook Yacht Club. She dedicated years to teaching dance at the Long Island Academy of Dance. It was her hard work ethic that drove her to a career in the law and starting her own law practice.
Cheryl is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. She is an accredited attorney for the preparation, presentation, and prosecution of claims for Veterans benefits before the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and is accredited by the Alzheimer’s Association AD Training Program.
Cheryl regularly lectures about various legal topics affecting our clients to local communities. She has had the pleasure of teaching legal studies to college students at Brooklyn’s CUNY Kingsborough Community College as an adjunct professor and has lectured to students at Touro Law School, Hofstra Law School and C.W. Post – Long Island University.

What originally started as an ordinary deal turned into a very difficult situation as the estate was challenged by one of the heirs. If it weren't for Cheryl's dedication and problem solvin...

"I've known Cheryl for several years in various capacities. Cheryl and her firm do outstanding work in the area of Trusts & Estates, Elder Law, Family Law, Real Estate, Business Matters, handling medicade issues as well and various other matters. In addition to being an outstanding attorney, Ms. Fratello is actively involved in the community. I have had the pleasure of being a member with her in the Columbian Lawyer's of Nassau County, Inc. as well as serving with her as an officer in that organization. The Long Island Women's agenda honored Ms. Fratello as one of Long Island's Emerging Leaders and the Long Island Business News with the "40 Under 40 Award" in January 2010. These distinguished honors are a tribute not only to her accomplishments as an attorney but more importantly demonstrates the tremendous moral she exhibits as a person and a member of our community."
"Having the pleasuring of knowing Ms. Fratello for well over a year, I can safely say that she is one of the most professional, knowledgeable and personable attorneys in the business. Not only does Ms. Fratello give her clients the kind personal attention that is rare in this business while alway looking out for their best interests, but she is always thinking 10 steps beyond in any situation so that any potential legal problems are already thwarted. I would (and have) without hesitation encourage anyone to utilize her services, whether it be in the realm of trusts, estate planning, elder law issues, or any other area of the law she decides to undertake in the future; she is THAT good."
