Biography
Ms. Yunus is the Principal Attorney and Owner at Yunus Law. Her practice focuses exclusively on U.S. Immigration and Nationality Law. Afia assists employers and employees with accomplishing employment-based immigration goals. These include business and professional visas, student visas, PERM and temporary labor certifications, investor visas, and consular representation. Afia also represents individuals in family–based immigration matters, including Green Card applications, family based immigrant and non-immigrant petitions, consular processing assistance, and citizenship matters. Afiamaintains an active deportation and removal defense practice, including representation in EOIR individual and master calendar hearings and in filing various applications for relief from deportation.
Afia received her B.A. degrees in Criminal Justice and Political Science at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2007. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and received Dean’s Honors List distinction every semester. She earned her J.D. degree, Cum Laude, from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2010 with a Certificate in Public Interest Law. At Chicago-Kent, she was awarded the CALI award, Dean’s Certificate of Service Award, and was on the Dean’s Honor List. She is admitted to practice law in Illinois and before the Northern District of Illinois Federal District Court.
Afia is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers’ Association (AILA).
Mrs. Yunus speaks fluent Urdu and understands Punjabi.

10 year GC renewal and n400
my 10 year GC process was dragging out to get approved and my 3 year GC was expiring. Afia suggessted filing the n400 to help speed up the process and within a few weeks my GC was approved and arrived. I am now awaiting my n400 review and interview for citizenship
