I first met Afia at the peak of President Donald Trump's travel ban in the Spring of 2017 when she was invited by Camden County College to explain the nitty gritties of the travel ban to international students of the college.I was a student there. I listened to her presentation and decided to engage ...her as my lawyer because I was out of status at the time. Two years earlier though, my wife had petitioned for me. But because she was a greencard holder, I was asked by the NVC to wait till my priority date was up. From the time I engaged Afia as my lawyer for fear of getting arrested either on campus or anywhere else till the time I again engaged her to file for my adjustment of status when my wife became a citizen, Afia has been very wonderful!. She knows her job as an immigration attorney and has the time to listen to whatever concerns I have. I have had friends who have over the years complained about their attorneys because they always have a hard time reaching them (attorneys). Afia is different. She would respond promptly to my emails as though they were sms messages. She is always available and will say words that will minimize your frustrations and give you some hope by the time a conversation ends. On January 18th, 2018 Afia accompanied me to the USCIS interview without asking for any additional cost. And on February 9th 2018, her office called me to inform me that my greencard was in. If all lawyers worked like Afia, the stressful immigration process would be easy to manouvre.
