Biography
Gary Port is a prominent attorney who leads a dedicated group focusing on family law, divorce, custody, and support issues. His practice also encompasses complex commercial litigation, addressing the overlap between commercial law and property division in divorce proceedings. As a retired Lieutenant Colonel, he heads the Military Law/Veterans Rights section, working diligently to secure discharge upgrades and represent veterans and service members in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and Courts-Martial. In recognition of his pro bono efforts, Gary was honored by the Center for Children, Families and the Law and the Gitenstein Institute for Health Law and Policy, and was featured in the New York Law Journal's Pro Bono category in 2016. A graduate of New York University and Brooklyn Law School, Gary is also committed to military service as an Army Reserve Ambassador for New York, providing counsel to the Commander of the United States Army Reserve.

I choose Port because I could afford him. At first he seemed great and got right to work. However at the negotiating table with my ex and his lawyer he was not agressive and I personally, by shaming my husband to his face, won a major concession. Replied last April 14, 2025I have no idea who this is. This does not even sound remotely like anything I would have done. I have checked with my employees and previous clients. Several of my clients suggested that this may have been posted by the spouse of someone I represented as a well of getting back at me. My clients know that that I do I communicate with them, and I never send out any proposal or make any offer without their express permission and consent. All my stipulations of settlement are completely discussed and reviewed by the client before I ever send it out to my opponent. Therefore, there is no way that I would miss covering assets as it claimed. The line about "having to re-ligagate" (the poster's misspelling) shows the falsity of the statement. Once an agreement is signed and a judgment of divorce issued, there is no "re-litigation". In fact, that is why the drafting of the agreement is so important. Once, the agreement is done, courts will not open it up again for discussion unless there was fraud by one of the parties or that the deal was so unbalanced as to "shock the conscience of the court." Be aware that it takes a lot to shock the court's conscience. In other words, once the deal is done, consider it written in stone. In conclusion, this is a false comment and was written solely to harm my reputation.
