Jean was a godsend. She was recommended by a good friend, another real estate lawyer who moved out of state and could not represent us. My husband and I hired her to handle both the sale of our NY house and the purchase of a NJ house. She saw us through a year's worth of delays and headaches caused b...y very difficult buyers. Despite it all, Jean was the consummate professional and she never complained and was never pushy. At various points, she presented the pros and cons of our legal options, and helped us calmly make the best choices under horrible circumstances. With poise and grace, she managed tense and challenging situations with another attorney to resolve matters in our favor. And when called for, she exercised legal pressure on our behalf but managed to never close the door on future negotiations. At our NY closing, she even received praise from the attorney and buyers for how smoothly she handled everything from the very beginning. We HIGHLY recommend Jean. She is a clear communicator and is very thorough; she made sure that all agents and lawyers involved with our NY sale and NJ purchase were aware of key issues and delivered on their promises. She was always mindful of our expectations, constraints, and deadlines. We are VERY satisfied with her representation, and are so grateful she helped us close on both our houses.

As a first-time home buyer, I had no clue what actually needed to happen going into the process - and that was fine because Jean knew everything and was able to quickly provide summaries/timelines/excellent advice on every aspect of the transaction. She was on top of all of the paperwork, all of the... deadlines, every last detail. Incredibly professional, and was always reachable for any question a first-time home buyer would have. All of her explanations of process and documents were thorough. Would highly recommend and work with Jean again.

Jean is an extremely knowledgeable, thoughtful, and professional real estate lawyer in New York City. Jean worked with us on a condo purchase in lower Manhattan, and she was very helpful to us from sign to close. Along the way, she explained the details and implications of every nuance of every docum...ent or ancillary consideration we had to sign and/or otherwise review. I don't know how much time it took her to go through all of it, but she debriefed us over the course of an hour in an afternoon to get us up to speed with everything we needed to know. In total, the whole process for us took just over a month, and actually turned out to be relatively simple and straightforward (which is not commonly heard in NYC given all the potential "pitfalls" in NYC real estate); we attribute a large part of this to Jean's guidance. Beyond all this, she was eerily patient with us - as first-time homebuyers - through the entire experience. In addition to her "primary" responsibilities as our lawyer, she took the time to speak through all of our concerns/questions related to the purchase and offer perspective on what our options were for each of them. Jean was always accessible and resourceful, never pushy, and always looked to take our best interests into consideration. Highly recommended, especially for fellow first-time homebuyers.

I retained Jean to handle the sale of my co-op. The apartment took a while to find a buyer and Jean periodically checked in to see how matters were progressing. When an offer finally was accepted she was ready to go right away and worked hard to get the contract signed ASAP. The buyer's attorney w...as lax and not motivated and Jean made sure the deal was completed promptly. She explained the contract in detail to me and ensured my right were protected. When it came time for the closing she provided an excellent sheet detailing the money I would be receiving and the money to be paid out. At the closing she made me feel comfortable the whole time with what I was signing. Also she worked hard to ensure I paid the lowest possible fees for UCC filings. What I liked best about working with Jean was that she always kept in communication with me about what was going on. She replied to my emails very promptly and I never felt like I was in the dark about my deal. I would use her again in a moment.
