My fiance and I had a wonderful experience with Strub Law LLC. We are a young couple whom have been through some traumatic losses. I find that estate planning is not something often talked about without feeling some sort of "awkwardness", because let's be honest, who really wants to think about passing on? However, my fiance and I found it imperative to address this due to our own experiences with loss. Strub Law LLC made us feel comfortable, positive, and created a meaningful experience in all of our meetings. The value in doing this is priceless, for we never want our loved ones to be even MORE confused and in pain than they already may be if and when that time comes for us to pass on. 10/10 recommend!
We recently worked with Rebecca to complete an estate plan for our family. She was patient and thorough throughout the process. We recommend her without hesitation!
I have an LLM in Tax and Certificate in Estate Planning from Temple University.
"Estate planning" is an umbrella term for making sure you have a plan for you and your loved ones if you are incapacitated and when you pass away.
A Power of Attorney can be Financial - saying who you want to manage your financial affairs if you are incapacitated.
A Power of Attorney can also be Medical/ Health Care - saying who you want to make medical decisions for you if you cannot.
There are many types of trusts with different goals/characteristics - keeping details out of your will (which becomes a public document) to maintain privacy; protecting your hard-earned money for your kids; etc.
Wills and Living Wills are different.
- A Will says "who gets what" once you have passed away.
- A Living Will (aka Advance Directive for Health Care) says what kinds of medical treatment you do &/or don't want at the end of your life.
We help our clients have the peace of mind that comes from having a comprehensive plan for what happens when "something" happens. "Something" can be an accident which leaves a parent temporarily unable to pick up their child from daycare or school. Or, an accident that leaves a spouse incapacitated for an extended time or permanently. Or, your inevitable death which leaves the question of who gets your "stuff" and, if you have minor children, who will take care of them.Â
Many of our clients say that working with us was easier - and more comprehensive - than they expected. When you begin to work with us, we ask a lot of questions so that we can understand what you really want. We then counsel and suggest the best way to translate your desires into documents such as healthcare directives, powers of attorney, wills, and trusts. These legal documents are a necessity, but they are a byproduct of understanding what you want to happen under various situations.
A plan that is done once, stuck in a drawer and never looked at again is not going to be the best plan to take care of your family when you most need it. So, we communicate regularly via emails, newsletters and phone calls so that we can help you keep your plan current with your changing family, your changing assets, and the changing law. In addition, we charge only flat fees agreed to in advance. You'll never get a surprise bill in the mail.

Excellent Estate Planning Lawyer!
We engaged Rebecca in early 2015 to create an estate plan for our family and we were very pleased with her services. Rebecca asked the right questions and her willingness to meet at our home was greatly appreciated! Rebecca made the process quite simple and we would definitely refer her to our family and friends as well as hire her in the future should the need arise.

Loved getting just what I asked for!
Rebecca was able to be very accommodating with our appointment scheduling, which is very helpful for a busy working mother of 4. Our meetings were concise, informative, and timely. I believe that Rebecca asked me excellent questions that enabled her to clearly understand my situation and allowed her to produce the appropriate documents with very little need for changes or corrections. The process was simple, affordable and I would use her again in the future.

Relationship: Worked together on matter
"I had the opportunity to collaborate with Rebecca on a matter involving estate planning. She made it extremely easy to understand the nuances of NJ estate law and how to properly plan with the local estate tax being less than the federal exemption level. Throughout the process, Rebecca was accessible, thoughtful, and respectful. I enjoyed working with her and would do so again if the opportunity arose. You would be well-served by having Rebecca assist you with your estate plan."

"Rebecca is a great estate planning attorney and is one of only a few in the area that commits to giving her clients more than just a set of legal documents. She's a great advisor."
