Great Experience

In January of this year, I feel very ill and was unable to work. Kingston Law group handled my insurance claim, entitling me to benefits to which I was entitled. I cannot say enough good things about Hannan Issacs who took not only a professional interest in my case, but a personal one as well. Lawsu...its are difficult, even more so when you are not well, so having a lawyer who was compassionate, made all the difference to me.

Compassionate Counsel/ Tough Advocacy

I was unable to retain the services of Mr. Isaacs. Previous frivolous accusations I’ve read about the man providing 1 star rated angry reviews are obviously false narratives because the accuser/narrator did not get their way. My experience with Mr. Isaacs was to the contrary and I, too, did not get ...my way in the end. I had a small cash deposit in my left pocket that Mr. Isaacs had to have noticed throughout our nearly 3 hour discussion on why he felt my case would lack merit under state law. Although from an emotional standpoint his reasoning was not what I wanted to hear or accept, from an integrity and personal standpoint I was still prepared to pay Mr. Isaacs whatever his initial consultation fee was. I don’t believe I had the full amount in pocket but I was prepared to sign whatever necessary documents to ensure he felt comfortable that I’d return with the rest of his rate by no later than next month. Hanan M. Isaacs did not accept any of my money. Hanan M Isaacs returned my emails personally himself well after hours. Hanan M Isaacs met with me on two occasions. I may not have been able to convince Mr. Isaacs to accept my case based on his experiences versus my experiences as two men from very different walks of life notwithstanding his 40 years as a trial attorney in cases similar to mine. I was 9 when he started practicing law: I had to catch myself from overstating my convictions regarding my experiences. I’d recommend his firm, The Kingston Law Group, over other firms in New Jersey that are truly hellbent only on money. This man isn’t like that. I saw free of charge. I saw a mom and pop family environment where staff can bring their dog to work. Mr. Isaacs was extremely hands on beyond the call of duty I’d expect from other lawyers in practice since 1979. He joked with his assistant that his 40 year anniversary in law is approaching. If I could afford to I’d personally send him a gift card to the finest New Jersey/New York restaurant to celebrate his many years obviously as a successful lawyer with no prior stains. I may be left to continue to seek counsel but I can think of at least two-five poignant pieces of plausible information Mr. Isaacs shared with me regarding my case that I had zero prior knowledge about. This man watched my entire 49-minute DVD. I had a second DVD that might have given clarity on my out of character behavior during the first DVD but I could not have asked him or his very bright attorney/assistant, Tabatha, for another free minute of their time. I can only imagine what he’s like in court. Mr. Isaac’s short commercials on line are indicative of who he says he is. You know how I know? Because I’m who I say I am. Takes a winner to know a winner. I wish whomever is reading this God speed towards your journey towards victory with this fine man as your attorney. Ignore the passages of previous degraders and take my word. He’s still who I’d hire over others in my dual multi-jurisdictional complaint in neighboring nearby New Jersey boroughs.

Very disapointed

I had very bad experience with this lawyer. His firm overcharged me by more than 1000 $ on a simple Settlement agreement and did not want to provide any billing information when I asked why he charged me more than it was projected (verbally and even his retainer agreement stated this). Hanan became v...ery arrogant and defensive and threatened me that he will drop my case. Finally, I had to hire a different lawyer and was actually very happy with it, because Hanan M. Isaacs' firm is not attentive to the details and created multiple mistakes in my Settlement agreement. During the process of the Settlement creation, those errors were found by me and had to be corrected by Isaacs' office. Additionally, Settlement created by Isaacs' office was not complete and new lawyer had to add multiple clauses to protect me (and my wife) better. Additionally, new firm's rates are more reasonable and they provide billing information without me requesting it.

This is a complaint from our former client, Vasili Melnic. Mr. Melnic already had this matter fully investigated by the Better Business Bureau, which declined to take action. We spent 3 weeks intensely working for Mr. Melnic on his divorce settlement agreement. We advised Mr. Melnic from the start: there is no way to predict or guarantee a final bill, and the Retainer Agreement so stated. The estimates we gave him were based on averages for the work we do with many people. We clearly state the hourly rates for the work we do. This was not a fixed fee assignment, because if it were, we would have so stated. We do not stand in the way if parties wish to negotiate and renegotiate with one another. That is what happened here. Husband negotiated with wife, who had no lawyer. Husband came back to us time after time to make substantive changes which adds time and expense, and which we so advised Mr. Melnic, per NJ Supreme Court edict. We explained all of this to Mr. Melnic, and he promptly went from inquiry to attack mode. He accused us of purposely inflating his fees; became very abusive, bringing up supposed mistakes that he had never mentioned before. And then he started making threats to go to all of the major attorney websites to leave bad reviews. I told Mr. Melnic we refused to work for him anymore and he should go find another lawyer. I have been a NJ attorney for 40 years; and a Supreme Court of NJ Certified Family Law Specialist, of which there are only 250 out of 70,000 lawyers in this State. I have been Chair of the State Bar Dispute Resolution Section. I have served on the NJ Supreme Court’s Unauthorized Practice of Law and ADR Committees. I have taught law at Seton Hall Law School and Rider University. I have received the NJSBA Dispute Resolution Section and General Practice Section Practitioner of the Year Awards. I have served as President of the NJ Association of Professional Mediators. I publish and speak regularly on Family Law, ADR, negotiation, arbitration, mediation, and related topics. I have served as lead trial counsel in federal and state courts for most of my career. In sum, our law firm did a superb job for Mr. Melnic; Mr. Melnic got the full benefit of the work we did which was reasonable and in alignment with the agreement he signed. At the end of the day, with large marital assets, child support, college education financing, and related matters at risk, we completely protected Mr. Melnic and his child. His wife accepted the deal, not because it was bad, easy, or obvious, but because we included what both sides needed. Despite all of that, Mr. Melnic went to war with us over $900.

Great Lawyer-Great Firm

I used Mr. Isaacs' firm to help me navigate a legal case in 2013 and I was very impressed. Hanan is a great lawyer who stood by me throughout the entire process. He is knowledgeable and quick witted and was a joy to work with. As a result, when I needed to navigate a more complicated issue this year,... I returned to his firm. Again Hanan stood by me the whole time. There are times when he tells you what you NEED to hear, and not what you WANT to hear, but that is his job. He cautioned me against actions he felt were too risky, and was a true advocate for what was truly in my best interest. In the end his council was the best route to take.

I was wrongfully fired for making a Workers Comp claim...

This situation left me with a lot of stress, questions and uncertainty. I contacted a few law firms before I finally contacted Hanan M. Isaacs, P.C.. They were very prompt and professional. When I went to visit at their office for further consultation the atmosphere and the way they greeted me made m...e feel like a very important client and took consideration for any conditions I had at the time. After the meeting we mutually decided to work with each other and hired them for my case and have not had any regrets thus far. They contact me as needed and get back to me very quickly if I have any questions. Everything since then has been smooth and it's great to have all that stress alleviated off my shoulders.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
