I had an opportunity to meeting Mr. James Fridie, We talked for about an hour and the half, I must say I did most of the talking explain my ongoing case and hoped he would take over my self-defense situation, Although I paid $450.00 for consultation, I felt that he was in a rush, not comfortable ...and or confident to have my case. He increased his retainer fee after hearing and reading my case. I did not get a solid answer to my questions or maybe I did not understand him. He is a polite, professional attorney, the office appearance may give you wrong impression but I did not care about that, I was more curious to hear what he has to say about my chance of receiving fair trial. After I left’ I felt as I should had asked more questions instead of talking about my case considering I paid $450.00 that usually is free by most of the.

While I'm sorry this individual was unhappy, I strongly disagree with the review. While my office offers free consultations in most instances, there are certain exclusions and this individual’s situation was one of them. When he initially contacted my office he indicated he needed to meet for several hours to discuss his matter. As is the custom of my office, this person was informed he would be charged for his consultation and he indicated he still wished to meet with me. In regards to the claims that I was in a rush, I met with this individual for two hours, reviewed a pending motion, as well as prior orders, and several exhibits. I attempted to answer the questions he asked, but he often interjected, asking for me to make guarantees, which I didn’t feel comfortable doing. Finally, in regards the fee he was quoted, it was slightly higher than the amount we discussed on the phone because of several complex issues which were not disclosed during our phone call. Despite the review, I wish this individual the best of luck as they move forward with their matter and thank them for the opportunity to discuss the case.

Unprofessional and Indifferent Service - A Frustrating Experience

I had a highly frustrating and disappointing experience with Mr. James Fridie III and his staff. From the outset, the service I received was far below what I would expect from a professional legal office, particularly given my need for reliable assistance during my deployment. Scheduling an appoin...tment with Mr. Fridie was a major ordeal. Despite calling and making appointments over the phone, there was no follow-up or confirmation email from his office. When I called to confirm, the staff seemed clueless about my identity and the scheduled appointments. This lack of organization and communication was incredibly disheartening and unprofessional. It took two long weeks of persistent effort to finally speak with Mr. Fridie. Even then, the experience was far from satisfactory. He was dismissive and indifferent, showing little interest in my case or understanding of the challenges I faced while deployed. His curt demeanor and lack of engagement were extremely disappointing, especially considering the critical nature of my situation. The indifference from both Mr. Fridie and his staff added unnecessary stress and frustration to an already difficult process. Their failure to maintain basic communication and their unprofessional attitude made me feel undervalued and neglected as a client. This level of service is unacceptable for anyone seeking legal assistance, let alone someone dealing with the complexities of remote legal matters while serving their country. Given my experience, I cannot recommend Mr. James Fridie III’s services. The combination of poor staff coordination, unfulfilled appointments, and Mr. Fridie’s dismissive attitude left me deeply dissatisfied. If you require a lawyer who is responsive, organized, and genuinely invested in your case, I would advise looking elsewhere. In summary, my dealings with Mr. Fridie and his office were marked by a lack of professionalism and courtesy. For anyone needing dependable and empathetic legal representation, especially those in demanding circumstances like a deployment, I suggest seeking help from a more reliable and considerate legal professional.

I strongly disagree with this review. My office does use an answering service so we can be contacted 24/7/365, the lone drawback is that if you hang up and call a few minutes later you are going to get a different receptionist than the one you previously spoke with. In terms of confirmation for appointments, we provide email confirmation if the consultation is via zoom and a confirmation via text that is typically sent out 24 hours before a phone consultation. During a consultation, I ask the prospective client to provide details pertaining to their matter and I offer honest feedback. If there are difficulties inherent in the objective you are hoping to obtain, I will mention that during the initial consultation. This means I often have to tell clients and prospective clients things they need to hear, not necessarily what they want to hear, which can lead to some difficult conversations at times. The claim that this individual felt undervalued and neglected as a client is extremely misleading, as they were never a client of my office and only had an initial consultation. I have represented active-duty members of the military for years. Coming from a background where several of my relatives served this country valiantly, I am always courteous and appreciative to anyone I speak to that is involved in the various branches of the military. I would never be curt or dismissive to any prospective client contacting my office, as I appreciate all individuals who contact my office to discuss their matter. Despite this review, I wish this individual all the best.

Posted by Nathan | November 27, 2023 | Hired Attorney | Expungement

Terrible Lawyer! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

What an absolute nightmare and a waste of my time working with James Fridie! I retained him in late 2020 to handle my expungement. We received the expungement order signed by the judge in April 2021, and he told me it could take up to a year for the state police to remove the records. Fine. April 202...2 comes around, and I noticed that the expungement has not been completed and records still showing on background checks. So James Fridie begins investigating as to why... fast forward 8 months to December 2022, James Fridie cannot figure out why the expungement is not going through and tells me he is constantly calling the prosecutor's office and courts to find out what's going on... fast forward another 6 months to June 2023, he claims he is still calling and mailing the documents repeatedly with no solution in sight! I even offered to pay him EXTRA to make this a top priority, but he declined and still cannot figure out the issue. August 2023 comes, and still no answer from James Fridie, so I took it upon myself to contact the court, the prosecutor's office, and the state police to figure out what's going on. Within an hour, I discovered that the root cause is that James Fridie left out the criminal case number and only included the indictment number on the expungement! BINGO, I thought; this will be an easy amendment, and the expungement will be completed soon (it's been 3 years now). I told James Fridie my findings and proved that this is the issue with my co-defendant's order of expungement, whose expungement was successfully completed in late 2021, and records were removed! We both filed at the same time but with different lawyers. I wish I had used the same lawyer as my co-defendant. James Fridie states he will amend the expungement and send it to the judge again. This was on Aug 13 2023, then silence! All he has to do is have his secretary make a few sentence amendments to the document and mail it to the judge. James Fridie has not responded to six emails in the past four weeks and over 15 phone calls to his office! Out of the blue on Oct 11 2023, James Fridie re-appears claiming he has been busy with a trial, so I guess he just forgets about all his other clients for weeks on end when this happens? He has now miraculously gotten in touch with the prosecutor's office after one and a half years of not being able to, and now says that amending the order to include the criminal case numbers will not fix anything but still has no solution for me and says he is waiting for a return call from the expungement office. I ask James Fridie how long I am expected to wait, and he does not respond (of course). Fast forward to today, November 27, he has still not responded or provided a solution, and I have followed up every week by email. Again, all he has to do is amend 1 sentence to the expungement order which I have proved to him with co-defendant's orders. I will now have to retain the lawyer my co-defendant used and start the process from scratch, which will now take another year at minimum! I paid James Fridie $1300 in late 2020 for a simple expungement that should have been finalized by mid-2022. I wasted three years with James Fridie and got no results! Absolutely horrible service from James Fridie and his office. If you are considering retaining James Fridie, please think again; he was not even able to handle an expungement case! Avoid at all costs!

While I am sorry this person feels this way, I respectfully disagree with this review. This client retained me for an expungement which was granted in 2021. He indicated to me afterwards that certain charges were still showing up on a background check. I sent his expungment petition out to numerous police departments and state agencies in an attempt to rectify the issue and many of the townships that were showing up were removed from his record. There is one charge still showing up and I have been working nonstop to see what I can do to get it removed. I told this individual I would contact him as soon as a I had an update. I have left many messages with the assistant prosecutor and county criminal division regarding this issue and will continue to do so until it's rectified. He is incorrect when he says amending the document to include the complaint number will rectify the issue. He will be in the same situation he is in currently. Despite this review I wish him all the best.

Disappointment

I brought my case to Mr. Fridie and he seemed to be knowledgeable and appeared to want to take my case. However after I brought my paperwork in he immediately changed his tune and expressed to me that it was virtually impossible for me to get my son back after a judge unjustly gave my son's father PP...R . Furthermore he talked as if he didn't want to represent me in the first place! He took my money, shook my hand and sent me off..

While I'm sorry this individual was unhappy, I strongly disagree with the review. First, I was never formally retained in this matter and only met with this individual as a prospective client. While my office offers free consultations in most instances, there are certain exclusions and this individual’s situation was one of them. In cases where I am asked to review prior court orders and provide an assessment of an individual’s case, I charge a modest consultation fee that is half of my hourly rate. As is the custom of my office, this person was informed of the consultation fee prior to scheduling the consultation. During the consultation, I reviewed all prior court orders with the individual and gave them a detailed assessment of their matter. As an attorney, it is my job to be honest and forthright will all my clients and prospective clients. At times this requires me to tell people what they need to hear, not necessarily what they want to hear. At no point in time did I say it was impossible for this person to bring about the results they desired. I did however; point out numerous difficulties that were inherent in their situation. I even provided guidance on how they should proceed in the event they wanted to do so pro-se. In reference to representation, that was never agreed upon nor was I ever asked to represent this person. Despite the review I wish this individual the best of luck as they move forward with their matter and thank them for the opportunity to discuss the case.
