I am a 28 year old Air Force Veteran who hit a rough patch in life. I was faced with 4 serious charges for an unregistered weapon in NJ which was legally purchased in the service. I faced a possible 10 year prison sentence being that NJ is the most strict with gun laws and in most cases there is a ze...ro tolerance because of the Graves Act. I called and went to a few lawyers immediately because I was worried and couldn't put this in a public defenders hands. All the lawyers seemed to give me minimal information in order to help and put my mind at ease, until money was discussed. I wasn't happy about that at all so I kept looking an came across Mr. James R. Fridie III. He was knowledgable and really made me feel comfortable. He explained pre trial intervention, how mitigating factors were huge in this particular case, and explained much more, then told me he would be more then happy to be my lawyer. I actually had to bring money up in conversation and told him the offers I had been told. He then came back and said "Not to step on anyone else's feet but I can do it for this amount" so after we met I knew he was the guy for the job. So all in all after some time the case was finally wrapped up, I got two years non-custodial probation and a few fines here and there. Before we even entered court he put me at ease and told me what to expect everytime and always proved to be right. Funny thing is he said I would probably get 3-5 years for probation because of the extensiveness of my charges and I walked out with a 2 year probation after he requested 1-3 years probation and made his statement to the judge during sentencing. I forgot to mention 3 out of the 4 charges were dropped due to his focus and will to get me the best results. He would not allow average results but instead strived for the best results which I received. My family and I can most definitely say that he made us feel good and we would use him again if need be(not for criminal of course). Lastly he even kept my parents in the loop 100% which was huge to me. Mr. James Fridie is a family man and real recognizes real and he is the real deal. I had an opportunity to meeting Mr. James Fridie, We talked for about an hour and the half, I must say I did most of the talking explain my ongoing case and hoped he would take over my self-defense situation, Although I paid $450.00 for consultation, I felt that he was in a rush, not comfortable ...and or confident to have my case. He increased his retainer fee after hearing and reading my case. I did not get a solid answer to my questions or maybe I did not understand him. He is a polite, professional attorney, the office appearance may give you wrong impression but I did not care about that, I was more curious to hear what he has to say about my chance of receiving fair trial. After I left’ I felt as I should had asked more questions instead of talking about my case considering I paid $450.00 that usually is free by most of the.

In February 2024 I made a list in search of a good divorce lawyer and James Fridie was my first call. He made a promise that he would help me and talked a good game. So I hired him and gave him $2500. retainer. His requirements. Later in that year I saw my house up for sale in June 2024. I emailed Ja...mes an sent him the info and had no response from him. When he did finally call me we got to talking and he needed some specific documents. So I retrieved them and emailed them to him. Fast forward 2025 haven't heard from him in like months so I emailed him requesting an update and progress on my divorce. I again was ignored. I was told he was in trial. Then another time it was a family member who got sick and he wasn't available to make a phone call or set any appointments. Very unprofessional! I did all the research and gave documentation to him. I even went as far as giving the location and background info of my (still husband) and paid for that. I sent that to him and no response. Every phone call was the same repeated conversation from prior conversation with no results no progress no nothing. Now hes asking for more documents and still no progress. It has been now 2 years and 4 months since I've given him the $2500 retainer. Worse part is my husband sold my house without me and took the money and ran to another state in 2024. When I emailed James abouty house being up for sale if he would of intervene on that real state I would of had a better chance of getting a settlement then than now! It's now June 2026 and my husband is broke and spent my half of the money sold my house out from underneith me (fraud) and moved out of state. So my chances of getting anything at this point is nothing thanks to James Fridie. He did nothing for me not even a title search on how my husband sold my house without me. I requested my retainer back due to negligence and lack of communication. Very unprofessional and disheartening considering he was so willing to help me with my divorce and I believed him. 2 years and 4 months with no results or communication from him just excuses and me doing his job with researching to find my soon to be ex-husband out of state. One more thing....Since Ive moved back to NJ from Wisconsin in June of 2024, not once has James Fridie asked me to meet him in person. Very unprofessional and does not care about his clients needs! James your fired and please return my retainer because you have done nothing to help me.
