In November of 2012, my husband and I had the unsettling experience of filing for personal bankruptcy due to job loss and trying to save our home from foreclosure. We were depressed and we took the advice of a friend who is also an attorney, on who to use, which turned out to be a mistake. Our prio...r attorney (NOT MR. PERLMAN) took our money, lost many of our personal documents, did not follow through on responding to our inquiries, and, when our discharge was finally granted, had not taken care of an integral part of the case, which he had discussed with both my husband and I at least twice, first at our initial meeting, and then again at the courthouse meeting with the trustee. After realizing that this matter was not addressed, I sent an email to our prior attorney to ask what the next steps were and to express disappointment that he had not followed through as he had stated. At that point, he lied and said he had never discussed that part of the proceeding with us, and really did not want to work with us any longer as he found us "difficult." I guess having a brain, and asking questions and wanting to understand the process is not encouraged at our former attorney's practice! After asking a trusted family member for another bankruptcy attorney to consult with, we were directed to Lee. Gosh, how we wish we had used him for the initial filing. Lee was so quick to respond to our inquiries, so thorough at explaining the law to us, not just telling us to let him worry about it as our former attorney had, and was the most decent human being, having compassion for what we had gone through previously, and concern for our future. Our previous attorney kept telling us to follow his advice, he had the experience, and not worry about the issues we WERE worried about. Lee provided me with so much information and also confirmed that something we were quite unsure of, which our former attorney told us needed to happen in order to proceed with the issue that was left unresolved, was actually true. He advised us the negatives and the positives of actually proceeding to resolve this one issue and gave us the time to make up our own minds. It turns out that we do not need to take care of this issue immediately, and so we can put it off for awhile. But we will absolutely be calling on Lee when we do move forward, as his kindness, his concern and his willingness to give us advice with the utmost regard for our current financial position, and with no problem answering our inquiries with a quick email or phone call, speaks to the person he is.

I highly recommend Lee Perlman to help you when you are in need of sound legal advice. Lee Perlman and his team successfully walked my family through one of the most difficult financial periods of our lives. Because of a severe medical issue, my family was forced into a situation where we eventuall...y had to file for bankruptcy. But we were scared and we really did not know where to turn. Luckily, a friend recommended Mr. Perlman to us. We did not know it at the time, but that recommendation turned out to be a blessing. Mr. Perlman and his team counseled and helped us save our home and reduced a great deal of stress being put on us by creditors. Eventually we did get back on our feet financially, but without Lee Perlman’s assistance, that recovery may have taken many years longer and possibly, without the bankruptcy, may never have come at all. Lee Perlman and his associate Chris Cassie were both very well versed in all of the issues surrounding my bankruptcy. They were understanding, non-condescending and took their time answering all of my questions (even when I asked the same one more than once). They helped put me at ease during an ex...temely stressful time in my life and are helping me to move forward. They have also helped guide me through the steps to rebuild my credit.

I would absolutely advise anyone who needs advice and assistance to contact Lee Perlman and his staff first! Everyone at the office is truly knowledgable, courteous, professional, considerate, timely and prompt. They can take even your worst fears and situation and go through them logically and human...ly to come up with the best plan to help you and guide you through them. They will take the time to talk to you at length personally to answer all of your questions and tell you exactly what you can and need to do. They never give false hope or advice and in fact go to extreme lengths to give the best advice. There may be many other firms out there to offer help but I am quite sure none comapre to the office of Lee perlman.
