For anyone who TRULY has been steamrolled by previous litigation and is collateral of former shoddy legal representation, PLEASE READ:
i was involved in a highly contentious interstate custody battle with my ex who was a NJ resident. Despite our child never residing in NJ, my ex had lied to the courts claiming I essentially kidnapped our child, resulting in the unwarranted removal of our child from my home 9 hours away, to NJ. After much research which included Nj case laws (as I am unfamiliar with NJ family law) and online reviews, Mr. Clancy and his firm consistently possessed, from what I found, high success rates in both the litigation and appeals processes. I made an appointment and drove to their firm to meet with Mr. Clancy who, despite my being intimidated by the size of the firm, made me feel completely at ease. He gave me no false hope like most attorneys with whom I consulted, rather, he thoroughly reviewed the case as it stood during our consultation and gave me various options from which to choose (along with his opinions of each). While most attorneys gave vague options on approaches to this case, the depth of detail he gave during our consultation not only made me feel my decision was informed, but his unarguable expertise and open communication style immediately provided me with the invaluable peace of mind I needed. His retainer was shockingly affordable, so it was a no-brainer to go forward with his representation.
Mr. Clancy immediately took the reigns of my case that, due to previous mediocre counsel, was wayward and off-course. Not one stone was left unturned; his tenacity and zealous advocacy stopped the malicious litigation on behalf of my ex right in their tracks.
I attribute completely this almost immediate change solely to Mr. Clancy's unyielding commitment to my case because not only did he ALWAYS return emails and phone calls within the day, but they were never rushed. He and his assistants emailed me every filing, letter, etc., immediately upon their receipt or sending, (which were many, and always of impeccable quality, since we had to play catchup). I still cannot fathom how Mr. Clancy's large firm with a correspondingly large volume of clients, never lost its personal touch, always making me feel as though I was their only case.
On our first court appearance, the opposition tried demanding a ridiculously self-serving agreement that was logistically impossible. They attempted to play games and bully me into submission, but Mr. Clancy wasn't having any of it and shut them down immediately. Considering the case involved domestic violence by my ex, it was wonderful to not finally have someone stand up for my child and I, as I was previously unable to do so.
Also worth noting, the court never sent out notices that our hearing was delayed five hours, and later adjourned for a later date. Mr. Clancy, by his own volition, refused to charge me as he rightfully could his hourly rate for the delay. What attorney does that?
Needless to say, by the second time we arrived for the hearing, everything was rightfully dismissed by my ex and his attorney because they did not want to proceed with a hearing knowing Mr. Clancy was about to bury their case in front of the judge. My child is now back home and our case is being properly litigated in my child's true home state.
My case was truly one for the record books - Mr. Clancy had to not onlyaddress complicated interstate jurisdiction issues, but a constellation of confabulated egregious allegations. He was able to resolve the case in just under a month, including the adjournment.
There is absolutely NOTHING negative I could say about my experience. I only wish he could practice in our state because he exemplifies the pinnacle of legal advocacy: rooted in ethics, reinforced by unsurpassed knowledge and resources that, with great facility, resulted in obtaining the desired case resolution.
