Alexis Nicole Laufer

As a Family Law Attorney, I have always been very passionate about helping others navigate through the difficult obstacles of divorce, child custody, and domestic violence issues.  Not only is the separation from your spouse or significant other itself an emotional event, but there are so many facets to a divorce - - - including child custody, parenting time, dividing assets, determining alimony and child support, possible abuse or domestic violence matters - - - that it can often times feel so overwhelming you don’t know where to begin.

It is imperative that every client feels that they can rely on their attorney during this difficult time. Sometimes, no matter how much you think you know or how strong you may think you are, you cannot do it alone. This is why your choice of lawyers is one of the most important aspects in your case.

My practice style is efficient, strategic, aggressive, detailed, and compassionate. I offer a one hour free consultation to each client at our first meeting. Then, if you decide you are ready to move forward, we will create a game plan tailored to your specific case. Every family is different, and therefore every case is different. About Alexis N. Laufer, Esq.:

Ms. Laufer has been named to the New Jersey Super Lawyers Rising Stars list for eight years in a row, from 2013 - 2020.  Ms. Laufer is admitted to practice law in both New Jersey and New York and concentrates her practice in the area of Family Law, representing clients in all stages of Family Law and Domestic Violence Litigation. She has extensive experience in all aspects of divorce, including child custody disputes, business valuations, alimony, child support, and equitable distribution.

After obtaining her Juris Doctorate degree from Seton Hall Law School, Ms. Laufer served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Maureen P. Sogluizzo in the Superior Court of New Jersey in Hudson County, Family Division.

While in law school, Ms. Laufer volunteered as a student attorney for the Seton Hall Family Law Clinic. She was also the Senior Article Editor for the Seton Hall Law School Legislative Journal, winning Best Brief in the Seton Hall Law Gressman Moot Court Competition.

Ms. Laufer is a member of New Jersey State Bar Association and the Morris County Bar Association. Locally, she is on the Executive Board of the West Morris Women's Juniors Club.
