Cannabis Law 5%

NJ has made marijuana legal but limited to 1 ounce. You can not purchase it legally until the Cannabis Control Commission has come into existence which likely won't be before June 2021 or later.

Marijuana above 1 ounce is still illegal to posess; the police cannot stop you if they smell marijuana unless you have more than 1 ounce. How the police can figure out how much you have before they search you is a big question.

rExpungements are available for more crimes and earlier in New Jersey. New York does not have a similar procedure; they have sealing, which many times is automatic but only for misdemeanors.

I have had cases in the Southern and Eastern Districts of N.Y., the Eastern District of Pa. and the District of N.J. I have argued appeals before the 2nd and 3rd Circuit Courts of Appeal.

My focus is to get adult clients into rehabilitation rather than prison. These crimes are very difficult to defend when youg children are involved since jurors believe that young children do not lie.

Juvenile Law 1%

New York has raised the age for adult criminal responsibility to 18. There are different categories below that for different ages and different courts. New Jersey has juvenile court for anyone under 18 at the time of the crime.

Speeding and Traffic Ticket 1%

The most serious of these are the offense that can result in suspension of your license. In New Jersey these offenses are in municipal courts. In New York they are in city, town and justice courts, although a few are in Supreme Court.

White Collar Crime 1%

These crimes are variations on theft and fraud and can be quite complex. Most serious wite collar crimes are prosecuted in Federal court. Misapproriation of money by an emplyee is prosecuted in state courts.

I'm an immigrant. I was found guilty of some charges that prevented me from becoming a citizen. I hired Mr. Igantoff. After a lot of effort he was able to find transcripts of my trials. Then he was able to get all the guilty verdicts dismissed! if you get in trouble, I highly recommend him.

Well worth the money

My husband was accused of hitting a high school student with the sweeper and he wasn't even in the area of the incident. The family of this student sued my husband and he had to go to court, once in court Mr. Ignatoff informed the judge that the case couldn't be heard in that jurisdiction because my ...husband is a township employee so a change of venue was done. When the court date arrived the other party never showed up and all charges were dropped.. We were very happy with him that when another matter arose we didn't hesitate to use him again.

Best of the best.

I had a consultation with Mr.Ignatoff. He agreed to take my case. He went to work on it right away and got the facts. He defended me and got me back my life as I knew it. If it was not for him I'am sure my life as I know it would have been over.
