Rachel represented me in DWI in NJ. I spoke with several lawyers prior to hiring her and they all were doom and gloom. Rachel was relentless and found loopholes and got what I thought would be atleast a 2 year license suspension treated as a first offense. She is just fabulous. I cannot say enough positive things about choosing Rachel to take on my DUI case. But thank goodness I decided to go with her!!! God forbid you ever find yourself being charged with a dui, she’s the ONLY one I would trust to represent you. Having to go to court for a year to fight my DUI I got to see... many other attorneys representing clients for a DUI. Rachel blows them all out of the water from her vast knowledge, to the way she speaks, to her overall demeanor - she is a boss and if she Is not able to get the charges dropped or dismissed then I assure you no one else can !! All I can say is if you are being charged with a DUI you’re making a huge mistake by not using Rachel to represent you. She was always completely transparent, explained things to me even though I probably asked her 100 times the same thing, and she was always Upfront about everything. Ms. Kugel should get 11 stars not 5. She is an excellent attorney, diligent, thorough, efficient, extremely knowledgeable in her field, and able to accomplish what seems impossible. She helped us with a dui charge with 4 additional offenses and was able to have the the matter resolved in a way that... was more than acceptable to us. Her fees are also extremely reasonable.

I was facing a 2nd DWI charge at the Jersey Shore, which would have resulted in 2 year suspension, 2-90 days in jail, 3 years of interlock device and 30 days community service along with 3 years surcharges and other fines. I was in a bad situation. I fell asleep in my car for hour and a half. Woke ...up with my charger still in my phone, the car was off, and my glasses were missing. I got out of car to search for glasses and found them on the floor mat. Got back into my car, screamed out of frustration over almost losing glasses, turned it on to make sure battery was not dead (my car battery had been dying frequently). Cop approached with my engine running. I Failed a field sobriety test and was booked for my 2nd DWI. That is when I called Kugal Law firm. I spoke with Linda who was understanding, informative, and professional. I met Rachel for the first time in court. She spoke with the proscecutor almost immediately and with a charismatic smile asked me to come outside with her. The Alco Test results, for which I blew an 0.11, were deemed inaccurate. She went back Into the courtroom and got it knocked down to 9 months and just a fine. I accepted that. 9 months is way less than 2 years. Plus, no interlock, no jail time, no monthly surcharges or community service. No 2nd DWI. Here is my case and analysis of Rachel in short. Unfortunately for me I had a very difficult case, I called around and heard different lawyers takes on the matter, heard their energy, their personality, their expertise, their willingness to fight comes through if you ask the right questions. I quic...kly put Rachel at the top of the list and eventually wound up hiring her. My case was in a Federal court which is rare, and the BAC exceeded normal DWI penalties, so I was very upset about this. My case took 6 months to unfold and wound up in 4 court appearances. Rachel like all attorneys initially asked for all the necessary documentation so that she could figure out a defense for me. She received some documentation, but not all. As this case went on I began getting the feeling that she didn’t care how many times she went to court as long as I got the best result which is exactly the kind of fight you would hope for when your paying an attorney. My mandatory 7-12 month suspension and 1 year interlock device due to my high BAC reading wound up getting reduced to a 3 month suspension only, no interlock device. I share that positive result with you for one reason. As I told Rachel after the final court appearance even if I had been given the mandatory sentence which would have been terrible, I still would give her the highest praise. Her attention to detail, level of expertise, personality (she made me smile even when I didn’t feel like smiling), and lastly the word “caring” stands out. She truly cares about you and your well being. I could not ask for more. I will never need Rachel again for a DWI matter, but somehow I would love to hire her again. If you are in need of a DUI attorney friends a family may say “I know someone” and refer you to them. I would be cautious about this approach. Sometimes they are not focusing on DUI solely, other times they are cases that are happening in a few counties only and do not offer a wide net when it comes to knowing prosecutors/judges etc. I hope this helps you make your decision, remember it may be a difficult time right now, stay positive, take peace in that at least you have the absolute best fighting for you!!!
