Extremely Knowledgeable and caring

Bari Weinberger and her staff are not only extremely knowledgeable about routine family law, they are also experts in non-standard matters. Bari literally wrote the book on NJ Family Law (see website for more information). However I feel the most important quality this firm offers is you are respect...ed and treated as an individual experiencing a life altering situation - and you are NOT treated like just another client. Although I was mostly in contact with Bari directly, her support staff was also able to answer my questions and represent me and were well briefed on my case details. I always received replies (both via email and telephone) very promptly. In fact Bari and I communicated about my case just days after her son was born! The firm offered concrete advise without judgement and always made me feel comfortable- important behaviors during a very stressful time in my life!

Family first lawyer

I found Bari and her team to be extremely ethical. They truly put my family first. When I came to her office at the outset responding to a claim of divorce hoping to reconcile, she immediately called my wife's lawyer and advocated to try and see if we could look to reconcile before moving forward. ... Who does that? She remained as decent and honest throughout and was extremely responsive and on point with her counsel. I owe a great deal of debt to her for what she did to help preserve my place in my children's lives. She is an outstanding lawyer and I would higly recommend her to anyone looking for the best person in New Jersey to represent you through what is one of the toughest experiences of your life. Additionally be sure to review all of the information Bari puts out their on her website to help you improve your understanding of the whole process as well as issues that arise. It is an excellent resource.

One of the finest family practices in the State / maybe US!

I interviewed a number of top firms in NJ (Barbarito/Frost, Riker/Danzig, Weinberger, etc.) and found Bari Weinberger to be the most knowledgeable, professional, the best judicial advisor as well as personable. I retained their firm and have never looked back on this decision. The firm is highly adm...ired, provides the best counsel and Bari herself is personally involved in my case - something none of the other firms would commit to. She is highly admired in the family law community as I learned, and has authored position papers that other family lawyers use as a guide. She is truly one of the finest examples of representation that any client could retain. I would recommend her unequivocally to all who want to feel secure that their counsel works solely with their best interests in mind while also providing the guidance and advise that only a top law firm could provide. Bari is surrounded by experts who not only compliment her, but extends her ability to provide for support (sometimes around the clock). Her firm is by far the best that can be secured! RA-MSEE

Big firm, second grade attorneys working on your case, ridiculous bills

Weinberger law group handled my divorce case for some time, then I had to switch to another attorney. I was quite pleased with Ms Weinberger's personal attitude and level of knowledge, though she could do a better job of keeping me informed on the situation. I told her from the very beginning tha...t I want to work with her, not random people from her firm, and she agreed. However, again and again people I never heard of were assigned to my case. At times their work was just awful. They tried to convince me to make unreasonable concessions to my wife, misrepresented her lawyer's words, and told me things like "you cannot do it" being unable to explain why I cannot do it, and what kind of catastrophe would happen to me if I go ahead and do it anyway. The documents prepared by those lawyers looked sloppy and were full of minor factual and grammatical mistakes (switching plaintiff and defendant being a typical one). It was difficult to get a clear answer to anything. Communication was a big problem, though I tried to make my questions as specific and clear as possible, and always put them in writing. Finally, I was slapped with a 5 hours bill for preparing a standard discovery (with a usual share of errors, in particular my last name was misspelled). Out of these 5 hours they charged 30 minutes for "reviewing" the adversary's response, failing to notice that this is an exact mirror of what they sent to her, down to fonts and spelling errors. There is no way one can stare at a document for 30 minutes and not realize it is a copy of your own work. I refused to pay the inflated bill and demanded reduction. Also, I refused to pay a bill from a person who I specifically asked NOT to do any work on a particular matter, but they still billed me for **looking at my e-mails!** Ms Weinberger automatically stood behind all ridiculous bills and refused to make any reductions. Finally I left for another attorney and Weinberg Law Group agreed to accept the reduced rate I initially offered. They did not go to arbitration. Bottom line: Bari Weinberger is a good and knowledgeable attorney and a good person, but it is not her who you are going to work with. It is random lawyers from her group that will send ridiculous bills your way and have you pay for correcting their spelling errors.

As in every situation, there are two sides to every story. While we are receptive to constructive remarks, we respectfully disagree with the complaints made in this review. Our firm goes above and beyond for every client. We value our clients and work diligently to please them in every way possible. We are a highly reputable firm. Our AV preeminent rating from Martindale Hubbell is the highest rating available for any firm. This speaks for itself. Even the writer states that Bari Weinberger is a great attorney.
