Sylvia L. Breitowich is Owner and Partner at Breitowich Law Firm, LLC. She is an attorney in New Jersey with her primary practice focused on the areas of family law and divorce. She is a graduate of Rutgers University where she majored in Criminal Justice and Psychology. She received her law degree from Rutgers University School of Law in Camden in 2008. During her time at Rutgers School of Law, Ms. Breitowich was a participant in the Domestic Violence Clinic where she provided legal aid services to residents of Camden County who were involved with incidents of domestic violence. Ms. Breitowich was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 2008 and the New York Bar in 2012. From the time that she was admitted, Ms. Breitowich’s legal experience has primarily concentrated in matrimonial and family law. She is dedicated to serving her clients in all matters involving divorce, custody, child support, alimony, equitable distribution and domestic violence matters. While growing up specifically on the Jersey shores of Ocean and Monmouth counties, Ms. Breitowich’s family law practice has taken her all over New Jersey representing clients throughout the entire State.
Ms. Breitowich is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Monmouth County Bar Association and Ocean County Bar Association. She has been voted a Rising Star Super Lawyer in 2017, 2018 and 2019 and was recently nominated as a New Jersey Best Lawyers for Families 2019.

Replied last August 2, 2016It is unfortunate that this client is unhappy. While I was assigned a portion of her case upon the relocation of her attorney to a new office, I was only involved with the resolution of a motion pending before a local court. I worked with the client diligently to finalize a resolution which was agreed upon and consented to by all parties. Ultimately, the attorney responsible for the client’s matter was forced to file a motion to request leave of the court to terminate representation. I was not involved with the matter much after the initial agreement was entered. Unfortunately, some clients don’t understand that New Jersey is a no fault state and therefore the reason for the divorce does not impact the amount of equitable distribution that they receive. While I am unaware as to how the client’s matter was ultimately resolved as the firm was no longer representing her, during the course of my representation, all of her issues were researched to the fullest extent to ensure that proper representation was provided. I have always and continue to wish this client the best of luck in her future. I would be more than willing to discuss this matter further offline should she desire to do so.
